Yeah my bike works like that thank you.
We just didn't care, as the delay is minimal and not at all worth bunching these many panties for.
Maybe its just me but having to stop every time you need to mount and doing that when ur gathering going from 1 place to the other sometimes I find running way faster then stopping to call for my mount.
Is a minor annoyance when gathering, yes. And yeah, sometimes sprinting between gathering points is faster, especially in ARR maps, but the time we'll save is very little. I do appreciate the change, don't get me wrong, is just never been as huge a time waster as you make it out to be.
That being said, a welcomed change. And if it helps you feel less annoyed by this problem when gathering, that's great!
My bad, my aim was not to make a big deal just something that did bother me a bit and wanted to ask why did it take them 10 years to change it.
Without getting too technical about how long term waterfall design processes work, I'll just say that the game is designed with extremely strict time schedules and micromanagement. Everything is planned years in advance. Right now, everything up until 10.0 is planned (maybe even further now). Their reaction to player feedback is minimal unless something extreme comes up, such as the recent user ID exploit. I'm shocked that they were okay adding the "pet" project into the game that some of the devs put together, which added some head/eyewear for the Vierra and Hrothgar.
This type of design does not do well with adjusting to the needs and/or wants of the playerbase, as reaction time is insanely slow, and in the event that you need to course correct, it's always too late. Dawntrail proved this insanely well, as we are now back to our 2019 player count, which means that the actual players are lower than the 2019, as that's including all of the Second Life, IMVU, and VRChat degenerates that have infected the American playerbase.
It also made it harder to run from world mobs, so there's that as well.
That's ok. I apologize for coming off too strong as well. I understand you appreciate the change and believe me, so do I. I just was never bothered by the lack of it, but that's more being used to most things having a casting/executing time.
"Wow How are we getting this Just now? "
Well...no one gave much thinking about It before
For me it was something that did bother me from the start coming from other "fast games" lets call them where you run and mount or just keep running without the sprint limit. I just did not think about it much in PoTD and there the 20sec did work well but in the open world and questing + gathering I did notice it more.
Its something that thinking today It annoyed me since forever but for me It was so Minor and i learned the game that i needed to stop in order to be able to mount that i never cared
Another one would be to talk with NPCs while mounted
haha now that you said it... Why cant we talk to NPCs while mounted xD
