On higher Levels also Redmage that can do the same.
At least when you run with Randoms a lot its really helpfull in lots of Adventures. :P
Still think my favorite is Summoner though, but I've stuck with it for so many years now I won't pretend I'm not entirely biased.
Still, the best DPS is whatever you want to play and are best at.
Other than that, it's Red Mage because they're all fabulous
Interesting take, because I think the opposite is true.
Yoshi wouldn't play it if it wasn't the best
DPS classes are about looking cool; not about damage output or actually being in the game yet.
And for quick damage, monk, ninja and dragoon. And monk and ninja (maybe Reaper, not played yet) does not require serious control in fights against groups of enemies, the basic aoe skills do not need to target. Extremely handy, allows you to move freely and hit on the go.
Dragoon has very good skills on a group of enemies, plus extra mobility, but requires aiming.
Ninja has a special advantage when working on a single target, having memorised the combinations, you can deal 20+ thousand dps every half a minute at level 90. And the equipment is low-level.
Monk has a similar opportunity is selected as a kind of randomly, from aoe skills and skills on a single target (you need to check three attacks with a skill) But if you spend three aoe attacks, automatically will be selected aoe skill. But if you spend a combo skills hitting a single target, there may be a single-target skill, and may be aoe. Uncomfortable.
Black Mage is interesting, but loses damage because of the need to change elements.
The rest of the dps played little or not at all.
