You use Mogstation[secure.square-enix.com] to handle all account registration needs for FFXIV. If you already have a Square Enix account, use that. If it says your username and password is incorrect, try using your e-mail address associated with the account rather than the ID "name" since SE may have changed the ID "name" for the account.
But I am on that page and I see no password. As well as the email I got from starting the ordering process for my one time password gave me this
Inquiry Number: 14042 4030 9204 1081
But I am not sure where that is important.
Registration Process for FFXIV is:
1. Make a Square Enix account. This requires an e-mail confirmation. Certain services are reported to have troubles doing so, but you're supposedly beyond this step so it shouldn't affect you.
2. Log in to Mogstation.
---> To log into Mogstation, use your e-mail address and password. Unless you have an authenticator/token/One-Time Password, ignore the One-Time-Password field as this is part of the two-factor security for your account that you haven't activated yet. You can add one later if you'd like.
3. Register your CD-Key.
4. Play
FFXIV doesn't require you to provide billing information to use your first 30 days. However, this means that at the end of the 30 days you will not be able to play any more.
You don't. Log in to Mogstation using a combination of your e-mail adderess and password. You'll find your current "Square Enix ID" is in the top right hand corner. SE likes to change it (usually adding a number if you selected a name thatisn't unique) without notice.
in the top right is my nickname, which may be the same as my user but ive already tried to use that to log in too. again no luck.
i think the issue for me is my account is an EU account and will only work on the EU website. whereas the launcher and mainsite/mognet dont use EU account infomation. i could be wrong but i cant see any other way round that. unless it is just an issue server side with certain accounts.
to bypass all this i did try to create an account from the launcher, using a different email (the one i used for the EU site strangly is already in use but also doesn't exist). the launcher crashed half way though verifying with a new email and has put the half made account in limbo and is now no use to anyone.
my advice to anyone with the issue like mine is to create a new account with the launcher (varify the ffxiv local files before doing so, they can be a bit buggy), square servers are a real mess right now tho and support is down so there might be some issues with new accounts.
edit: when i say mognet i mean mogstation, not mognet.
Make sure you set the language to your region at the top right.
using both email and username/nickname, with the password and email that logs me onto http://eu.square-enix.com/.
Very odd. but thanks for the help, much appreciated.
I can remember 11 being like this though. i'll have to reinstall since when varifying the local files, some where corrupt. which may explain why the buttons on the launcher where buggy.
but instead of fixing those files it decided to just reinstall the whole thing. which i'll do tomorrow now. then make a new email account just for this game, then try that using the launcher.
