FINAL FANTASY XIV Online

FINAL FANTASY XIV Online

Can't link steam account or register game.
I'm a bit lost. I linked my FF7 game to my steam / facebook Square Enix login, but I can't figure out how to link this game to that profile. The register game feild doesn't allow for a serial key like the one provided with this game.

I made another profile on square enix as well (not a FB or Steam one) and it's been a nightmare. It keeps saying invalid password on what I KNOW 100% was the password I set. Not only that but it won't let me reset the password for my username / email address because it says my birth date is invalid, which I also know was setup properly.

That company pays zero attention to usability, at least on its web presence.

So how exactly do I go about logging into this game with my Sq Enix Steam linked account?

You are most likely looking at the Square Enix Members page rather than the account management page for Final Fantasy XIV. You will want to log in here: https://secure.square-enix.com/account/app/svc/Login?cont=account&request=mogstation

According to some others, log in using your e-mail, not your username. This should allow you to log in to the Mogstation. Look at the top right corner when you are in and make a note of your username there. SE has a habit of tacking on a number to popular names.

oh okay, that is definitely the account I created. It still however says my birth date is invalid, which I'm 100% certain I didn't enter incorrectly. I'll have to take it up with their support.

I'm suprised no venue ever led me to that link. I'm not sure how anyone is supposed to know about it, as the links from steam lead to the Square Enix members page. The game launcher tries to contain all that information inside itself.

Frustrating :S

It can be frustrating, I'm just glad we're not dealing with the PlayOnline browser. *shudder*

Windows Live (on PC games) is another infuriating one.

That was at least navigatible. PlayOnline was not.

I tried this, it says my ID/username is invalid. (Tried both ID and email)
Then for ♥♥♥♥♥ and giggles, i tried to reset password AND create new account. reset password says email is in use but had an email sent to it already, create new account says the email ISNT in use...

If you've already registered your code once, you'll need to recover your account. If you've never registered your code (ever) then you'll need to get in touch with SE and Steam.

I know I'm reviving a thread but it's the only one relevant to what I'm experiencing. I think I left the page following the registration without copying whatever was required to represent FFXIV on my SE account. I can't add the game like I did with FFVII because I don't have one of the available two registration codes.

Can anyone help me figure out what to do to recover the information I was presented with after my initial registration?

I'll be contacting their support in the meantime to see if they can direct me. Odds seem slim on either end from what I've read regarding their C/S recently.

You manage stuff like this at http://sqex.to/Msp [the Mogstation].

What you need from Steam is the CD-key / Product ID code - Library - right-click on FFXIV & View CD-key.

Then use that to register the game at the Mogstation.

-----

Don't assume that FF14 follows the same steps as FF7 [plus that's really to link it to the SE MEMBERS program, not this] so be extra careful and don't click next until you're sure you've read it all.

Probably should've use something like "how to register FFXIV" & "Steam" in google

Unfortunately I've already done that; although I appreciate the response! I've been advised that the only thing I can do is contact them via phone support.
