300k gil cap for free trial
There's no reason for this other than they want your real life money before you can buy some things in the game, this is super scummy, please change it.

RMT for FF14 isn't as appealing though, gil is easily plentiful and it's not satisfactory to buy your way through (if you really wanted to you can buy a boost on their online store).

The whole point of the online store's existence with boosts and all that is to appease players who might give their money to RMT traders instead of to the devs, to 'buy power levelings, ingame currency, items, etc.

Also a lot of time these RMT traders uses the Russian region (or equivalent currency level) of Steam to buy copies at a ridiculously lower price range, if the keys to the base game can be bought on marketplaces other than Steam or Square Enix's official online store.

They could also use stolen credit card information but that's painting a money trail on them.

It's not a free game, it's a demo. Of course you're supposed to pay for full access to the game. How is that scummy?

If anything I'd say it's scummy of you to expect to be given everything for free.

There's nothing you can buy on the Free Trial that even requires that much gil, though? It's not like you could do any housing or anything either, since there's a limited availability for that which is available to the subscribers. It's already an overly generous amount, especially for not having access to the more costly driven endgame crafting and gathering activities.

Lol, I'd say that's quite generous for a demo free trial, no reason to complain this game is not free to play anyways, you are only trying it.

How is this scummy? Its a buy to play game with a sub. The trial is just that a trial, and they give you WAY more access to things than they need to. You should be GRATEFUL that they let you play for free at all. Im not sure how or why you dont understand how this works in life

Normally im pretty critical of square for obvious reasons, but this post and complaint is ridiculous

It's to stop RMT farmers from exploiting the free trial of this game. It doesn't stop them overall but it doesn't give them the option which is enough.

Y'all talking about RMT farmers as if they could even use the market board, there's no point in having a gil cap, and it surely doesn't do anything against bots, y'all are mixing correlation with causation.
There are a few items above 300k gil btw, y'all really don't know? seriously?

If this was a normal trial i don't think they should be adding new expansions, after all you're trying it why would you have to try out the DLCs? am i right?
Why even let you try out the whole story at this point?
Why even let you try out all the equipment? after all you're only trying out the game right?
Why let you even acquire more than 10k gil? after all you're only trying out the game no reason you'd need gil.

I fear you do not understand. THIS IS NOT A FREE TO PLAY GAME! OF course they want you to buy it and sub, thats the entire point of its existence bro. They give you access to nearly the entire game with your trial!!!! Theres always limits, but you can play through the majority of this game for free, i do not see why you are complaining bro. With all due respect, one last time this is not a free to play game, it is a buy to play with a sub fee each month. The trial is basically a demo to see if you dig it enough to buy and sub. Square is generous enough to let you play through the majority of the game, free of charge.... Cmon bro, see reality please lmao There is nothing wrong with what they do with the trial

btw im a major critic, but only when its due, this isnt something worthy of criticism. I am sitting here puzzled at your posts. And i am also wondering if you are just trolling us for entertainment, because your complaints here are kind of ridiculous . Complaining at a Gill cap for your free trial (inwhich they still allow you to play through most of the game), it sounds like you just want the entire game and sub for free. I am leaning towards youre just trolling us for entertainment.
