Is playing a Cat Girl Wrong or is the things you do with said Cat Girl Wrong?

I see people upset at grown dudes playing cat girl.

My Excuse: I wanted a small Character. I did not want to play a character that looked like a baby. The Characters I have unlocked that were the second smallest was the female cat lady.

Oh and she wears clothes....

FFXIV is 90% thin, fit women; and, as long as I never voice chat or have any IRL interactions with any of them, that's how it will stay. ;)

Those are commonly stated reasons, but you might also be surprised at the number of trans women who cannot afford to socially transition off the internet but find some comfort in being able to play female characters in online games.

It's interesting that you're making this assumption about people you don't know and have never met when I was specifically talking about people I personally know.

All of my lady friends that are lady friends are just that -- lady friends. They aren't dudes pretending to be ladies, so they wouldn't come up in a conversation about why dudes play gals.

There's nothing inherently "Wrong" with being a dude and playing a cat girl, just like how there's nothing inherently wrong with ERP. You should be able to do, or be, whatever you want (As long as it's not break any laws). I, myself, ERP, and if you have a problem with it, that's okay, but please don't harrase me for doing something I enjoy doing. A question I see thrown at me a lot, by my friends, is "Would you ERP with a lalafell?" and I always answer with a fervent "No". They look childish, sound childish, and thus, I won't ERP with them. I'm not comfortable with ERP'ing with a lalafell because they remind me too much of children. I won't say I am particularly FOND of people who ERP with lalafells, since it is MY believe, not everyone's, that if you ERP with a lalafell, then you miiight wanna see someone about that. That's MY opinion, though, and as you don't hurt anyone, it's alright I guess. Long story short, being a dude and a cat girl doesn't hurt anyone, so go for it, if you wanna ERP with a cat girl, go for it, just as long as it hurts no one, go for it.

When the odds are basically 10 to 1 that attractive Miqo avatar is actually a guy, I'm not sure why straight men bother actively flirting in game.
