Visuals, graphics. Anti aliasing.

Hey, the game right now looks very bad with jagged edges. I dont have an option for higher AA than fxaa, how can i make this game look smoother/better?

Is it as jaggy for you? Especially in high vegetation areas like forests it is insanely bad but when i watch youtube videos it all seems very smooth.

what kinda monitor are you using as well as the res?
my old 720p was like that it was fine when i was not moving the camera but the sec i do the foliage looked horrible the aa sucks in this game only way to combat this is for a higher res at lest that was my case i now use a 4k monitor and tho it is still kinda there i would say it removed 95% of it - hopefully there will be aa update for 7.0

Anything you watch on YouTube is going to be compressed, and the compression artifacts around sharp edges will make them blurrier.

Another option is to get a higher-resolution monitor.

Im using a regular 1080p monitor and 1080p res in game, i did try 1440p but the performance hit was too much.

Play it long enough, your brain will ignore all the bad graphics/textures. Luckly, in Patch 7.0(ish) a huge graphical upgrade will be implemented. Going forward the game will look better.

Gshade helps a bit but the antialiasing just isn’t great. You don’t notice it so much in YouTube videos because they lose some fidelity and are a bit more blurry.

I lowered some settings from max and im able to run the game in 1440p with decent frames, 1440p helped a lot with the jagged edges and lack of AA. Its still not great but it ll do. I hope the graphical upgrades you all mentioned with 7.0 dont tank the performance tho the graphical overhaul will be welcome. Im also still in the realm reborn area which is pretty old it seems so maybe the later expansion areas look better?

Some do, some not. Mountainish areas allways lock pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥, even in newer expansions.

Yeah but anti aliasing was availible during and before that time, there are about a million older titles that have a working form of AA. Other than that i have no issue with the visuals, they are a bit old but its perfectly fine and i kinda enjoy it. Im an osrs player i could care less about the visuals it's just that the lack of AA with jagged lines really hurts my eyes. Its a bummer.
