Can I run it?
I run Guild Wars 2 at 30 fps with the lowest settings. Can I run this game at least as well as GW2?

There is an FFXIV Benchmark you can run to see if your system is good enough, here is the link

This link explains the score system. To run this game the benchmark must score @least 1000-1500

I don't know if the benchmark is accurate at all I scored Very High on the heavensward one pre release but I've went to medium/high on some settings when playing as I play on 3440x1920... and very high made my fps drop a tad too much, the benchmark was performed on 3440x1920 as well.. so if anything take the benchmark application with a pinch of salt. :steamsalty:

Just my two cents.

The Benchmark has a lot of settings, not just resolution. Did you set them ALL to match your in game settings? Shaders, everything?

Post your specs please, a generalization doesn't help as much.

Yes they were exactly the same, and had the same with ARR one. So while it's great that there's a benchmark at all, the benchmark isn't perfect either. Also keep in mind that the benchmark only tests a set amount of things.

for example if OP will ever do Odin, Behemoth, Proto Ultima or Coeurlregina or any S rank for that matter it won't be pretty...

It would be pretty impossible for your settings to have remained the same between ARR and Heavensward, since Heavensward introduced DX11 and even the DX9 install has about 14 new configuration options.

Post your specs.

I'm not having any issues so I don't see why I should have to post my specifications, also I did not imply the settings have remained the same over ARR to Heavensward I merely said the same thing occured, ran the same settings (settings of benchmark and live) and the benchmark felt a lot smoother.

OP should post specifications as he's the one asking if he could run it.

But just for giggles here's my specs..

PC Specifications
CPU: Intel Core I7 4770K (running 4 cores, 8 threads at 4GHZ)
MB: Asus Z97 Pro
GPU: ASUS STRIX Nvidia GTX 970 4GB GDDR5 @ 1.2GHz
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 4x4GB(16GB) DDR3 1800MHZ
SCREENS: 3x 27" Asus VN279Q and 1x 24" Asus VE248H
RES: 3440x1920 @ 60Hz and 1920x1080 @ 75Hz

Argonar.

OP, you may be able to run it on low so long as you stick to the DX9 engine, however without specifications I can't be 100% sure, also you fail to mention if you are running the 32 bit client in GW2 or the 64bit. Running the 32bit client on a 64bit capable machine may be limiting your performance. (Note: FFXIV does not have a 64bit client that I'm aware of.)

GW2 is heavily CPU bound, ie most of the graphical elements aren't handled by your GPU the way it would normally be in single player games. FFXIV leans a little more heavily on the GPU. So if you have onboard graphics on a low end PC rather than a dedicated card FFXIV will be harder to run than GW2. (I'm making the assumption that your PC or laptop is a lower end machine.)

Another point to be made is that you haven't really mentioned why you are interested in the game and what your prefered play style is. Are you a raider? A casual? Pvper? Depending on what you like to play and what you intend on playing, you may want to pass on the game if it can't run decently.
