The important thing? Make sure to get the proper key for your region. NA for NA, EU for EU.
Keep in mind that paying via Steam Wallet looks to only allow you to pay the normal rate (8 characters per server up to 40 for $14.99 a month) as opposed to giving you the option for Entry (1 character per server for $12,99).
lol dude the website sells in british pounds..it is more expensive than in euro lol
There are two tiers for subscription.
Entry:
Standard:
I see USD which with the 20% discount it is cheaper there at the moment.
Yet.
Same process. For some people, paying via Steam in USD saves them 20-30%. But aside from the CD/license, you're jumping through the same hoops to give SE your money.
When you buy it from Steam, you get a CD-key. You use that CD-key to 'link' or register the game to your SE account. At that point, you can uninstall Steam. The game does not require Steam.
The 'backup' on Steam is usually out of date. Really out of date. Almost 4GB out of date. You can get the client from SE directly.
Once you use the key, it's useless. Feel free to forget about it. Used key = no value. You can't even use it to verify your identity with SE. Or post it on trading forums to troll people.
There is no extra security though, unless you mean that you are using your credit details via Steam (to avoid giving it to SE). In other words, it's the same deal, more or less, compare to buying it from Amazon.
Incidentally, £4 exceeds the average daily income of quite a few countries.
