Stolen Account + home + Free company (Support not helping)
Hi all,
Here is a horror story for you from trying to fix a stolen account by asking the games masters (Support) For help - It's simple Don't bother.
I was unfortunate enough to go into hospital for a spine issue, when i got home i found my FF14 account had been - you guessed it - hacked. The person had decided to RENAME the Free-Company, Remove all the original founders and members (over 70 players) and invite just 7 of their friends..... The have Cleaned out he guild banks, and take over the house..... The have cut us out of everything because they got the head of the guilds account..... So when we report it to Square Enyx. Of who we pay our monthly taxes. I mean games fees. What do they do.... Well they treat me like the criminal, i have been asked no less than 5 times to prov me my identity with photos passports, driving licences and god knows what else. every day i get another email asking for me to send CD Key numbers and god knows what else to their support. Add all the time the people who did this, continue to sell our gear. destroy the free company and everything we worked for. ALL OF US!

Everyone int he free company who has complained about this to GM are being treated the same!

Now if this was world of Warcraft.... there GMs would have rolled back within 24 hours....
2 weeks on were still trying to prove to the Support team i am who i say i am....

If you want to spend cash on this game DO NOT BOTHER. There support dong give a Damn about you. If you have 100's of USD Items stolen from you. don't worry, your not getting them back. and the Games Masters treat you the victim worse than the Criminals who destroyed your game for you!

Any ideas how to get the Support people to do their jobs that they are paid for, and actually help support the case? not punish the victim? And yes i had a subscription since 2014.... 8 years. But i have cancelled that now. because there services and their support and their loyalty to their customers is not worth another dime from my my pockets.

And it's in this sentence, that one must ask. if it's so bloody hard to do.. what exactly did you do to get that information initially compromised. I wish you luck but feel there's more to this.

Now if this was world of Warcraft.... there GMs would have rolled back within 24 hours....

a clear no to that. why? because you didnt reported the issue withing 1~3 days. for the support looks it simply like that you maybe moved to another location and then everything was fine afterwards.

your job is it to prove to the support that you was/are owner of the account which will probably be hard to do since you was for an extended time gone.

and why did you not had the 1time pw?

i find this history hard to believe especially with steam link, sounds more like you lost the guild leadership for not loging for a long time and the person who received it booted everyone else or worse tried to sell the FC house and the deal didnt went as expected

This is exactly the reason, regardless if OP's story is true, that I love and cherish my One Time Password Key and suggests that everyone gets one. If this story is real, I empathize with you OP, if not, well, it would not be the first one i've seen.

OTP won't protect you in all cases, but it definitely would have prevented this from happening to the OP.

So let get to that shall we. I have sent them the information they have requested 5 times, to there E-mail, every time i send them the information they request, they send me back an e-mail saying:::: p[lease send us the information, that you just sent us to the e-mail we just received it on, because we don't read out e-mails.

If you play the game you will know that process takes 3 months, at least 3 months - and your account has to be out of renewal, it has to be inactive.

The problem with that is, my account it still payed up for another 20+days. and i was not away for 3 months and from what we know it all happened 17 days after my last login, The account password was changed while i was in hospital without internet to notice what on earth was going on!

An YES it is a real story, that is what is so upsetting and the spurt services lack of ability to even verify my identity, even when i send them everything the y have asked! like a endless merry-go-round!

I hope for your sake's you never have a problem with them, and they ask you that question, prove your identity. because you might as well give-up the moment they do, they clearly do not read their e-mails, and throw you in an endless loop till you give up and go away!

with steam link for example (the new security they have done) is it impossible to login into your account without steam logged in. even the custom launcher cant login, steam needs to be open and logged in into your account in order to start the game for the XIVLauncher since the security update.

did you trusted someone too much and gave your password away? because if you dont have a 2 factor authentification and someone logs into your account from somewhere else gets login permission inmediatly restricted and you get asked via mail to reset your PW or else you will not get access to your account again with the attached link in the mail.

so this person which got you had access to your e-mail aswell.
because if you dont have 2factor auth. is your e-mail literarly the last barrier between loosing your account or keeping it.

That's not treating you like a criminal, that's treating you like a person who is trying to get their account back. They have to verify your identity in order to actually return things to you. That's how they prevent people from abusing the system to steal somebody's account by pretending to be them.

Somehow, I'm incredibly doubtful that this is what they literally said. If you think that's what they're saying, you probably need to read more carefully, because I suspect they're asking you for something that you're not providing, and it's likely that they're continuing to ask you for it because you're continuing to misinterpret what they're saying.

like what i said, if they dont have access right now to your steam account can they not use your FF14 account, since the new security update need you to have steam open and logged in! so either you made a story up or you are the hacker. because once an FF14 service account is linked to a steam account is that not reverseable. with other words, saying that the hacker unlinked your account and linked it to his is impossible aswell which leads us again back to only 2 possibilities.

you made this all up and this never happened OR!
you are the hacker because you must have access to the steam account which owns this FF14 account aswell.

1) You made it up. NO. Sorry with i did, but i am sorry you just cant access that this company are able to treat a person in this way? this would be like saying your an employee trying to shut me up. More important what you be my motivation to make it up. All i want is my Free company i founded and the house that was stolen back. I just want what was mine to begin with which they even acknowledged

2) I am not he hacker thank you...... and i hope the hackers who did do this get a steaming pile of the bad mojo they created for everyone that was in my guild....

Again all you do is accuse me...... The victim and not accept that the GM's Epicly failed, refused to support the victim, and did nothing.


Now i do have a Message from them now. that YES they got all my date ECT and Yes they see the problem, and Yes they admit it was taken But due to the time i has taken them to process the cast it is no longer able to restore the lost content back to me..... so after all their messing about and delays, they admitted... your what i said was true but tough luck because were going o mess you about till a point were no longer able to help you then say sorry you have st start all over again.

My simple answer to this stays the same.... I will not touch trier services again, i do not trust their Game Masters, I relay believe they have change as a bushiness they show no loyalty to there customers, they have developed a culture of blaim the victim first attitude rather than deal with the real criminals in this. and If you dare complain, the shut them down with accusations, calling them lies or incompetent or hackers or plain basic idiots.

As long as people still keep cashing in their hard earned cash to these people, they will continue to laugh at you, and when you get his buy a RMT hack, and have all your years of work WIPED...... don't bother going crying to t e GM'S - they will be to busy finding an way they can to stall you till its to late then tell you not our problems sorry.

However if you have had a really crap experience with the GM'C of Final Fantasy Failing to Support and Messing you up totally, then maybe you should post here, and start showing, then for what they really are - But please don't be a troll and blaim me using some stupid home make theory, for which you have no evidence, while i have over 40 Emails. Sowing me their incompetence and catalogue of failure..... Why don't you come out and support... Or is the idea of HELPING and supporting a person to much effrot for you, Very much like they did.

I'm (not) sorry, but any time I hear of people getting their accounts hacked, I just automatically assume they were buying Ultimate Clears via account piloting. ESPECIALLY when the hacker uses the account they allegedly stole. I can't think of any other way they got both the steam info and ffxiv info simultaneously, knew what to do with it, and knew exactly what of value was on your account.

fact is, if you are for an extended time offline as leader in a FC gets the FC leader removed from you and the most active person in line gets the FC leader.

btw i stay with what i said.
and like hobo wrote, you complaining about rtm but you are probably the one who used such a service and then you got hacked or bought ultimate clears etc. xD

since you said you was for a while offline got the FC lead simply taken away from you because of inactivity and someone else got it.
