What are the top tier/meta jobs/classes in FFXIV?

New player btw. I know I have the ability to just pick a class/job and clear the game or have fun with any of them but still kinda want to know.

The top tier job for YOU is the job you have the fun with the most and are willing to take the time to understand your entire toolkit as well as your rotations. No point playing the "best" job when you're gonna play like an absolute clown with it, cause you might as well be F tier, am I right?

Very much the wrong mindset. Must be why I've found ff14 to be way more fun than other mmos, especially the monstrosity wow has become.

Every class has it's good and lows.

You should lookup on youtube for each job class showcase so you can see their abilities in action. That's what helped me pick my main for this expansion.

So yeah... unless you want to play at the 95th percentile, pick whatever you like the most. And even if you do play at the top end, chances are that no more than 1-2 jobs will be off the roster, if even.

Just go to the game and try for yourself. I never asked noboby what class was the best. I dont need it. Stick what you like. You will have no fun thinking about meta bs if you ask me.

There are a lot of different niches that the different jobs fit into. Some jobs are better than others but a lot of them are just different from each other, so it really depends what you're looking for.

You need to figure out what type of role you want to fill within a party and then look at which jobs fill that role best.

Nothing casual about it, you can perform well as any job and any role if you put the effort in.

If you don't think that then it's not everyone else that needs to adjust their mindset. You can play whatever you like and still do extremely well.

Hell as a monk I regularly beat most SAMs I encounter in PF.
