level 30 looking for a mount

I wanna buy a mount so i can't save some time and not run everywhere

You get your first mount when you pick what faction to join
You have to do a quest tho

Yeah it's a lvl 20 main story quest that you get after you pick a grand company, which is also a main story quest

You can obtain other mounts, but you literally won't be able to use them until you complete the story quest that unlocks mounts. It's shortly after joining one of the companies.

to clarify a bit: you will not get a mount as you join the Grand Company. in fact you'll have to buy it for seals (there will be a quest to do it). and you do it at gc quartermaster.

As a new player it's slightly confusing. A lot of people parrot, around level 20 you get a mount. The fact is, currently you will be around level 30 before you have progressed far enough in the main story to unlock one due to the boosted MSQ XP. If it's your first character and you're on a preferred server you will be even higher level and that's just doing the main story.

They're talking about MSQ level, not your character level.

We are referring to MSQ Level. Character level doesn't doesn't matter because of EXP boosts/Preferred Servers.

The mount quest is a Level 20 quest.

They're not saying character level 20. They're saying it's a level 20 quest.

Don't worry, i feel your pain

got to level 40 fisherman, level 30 marauder before realising i had to stop doing my thing and follow that top left of screen main quest through (otherwise you cant upgrade to warrior class / get a mount etc)

soooo time for you to stop everything and follow that main story quest (MSQ) quest line exclusively until you get the mount happening

Yep. On the bright side, the quest immediately preceding the mount unlock quest awards exactly enough GC seals needed for the item to complete it. Back in the day, you had to drop everything and go FATE farm for a bit to unlock your dire chicken.
