Where did the NA servers get relocated?
I read that they got relocated from the east coast, so if they got relocated to the west coast I will not buy this game.

"While we are aware that many of you are curious as to the actual physical location of the new data center, please understand that for security reasons specific to the operation of an online game, we are unable to divulge that information to the public. What we can tell you is that the servers will remain on North American soil, in an area that features an advanced Internet infrastructure."

Those links tell me nothing, if server security is the case then they should of moved the servers to somewhere central like chicago or something instead of moving them all the way to the west coast ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ east coast players in the ass. All I know is that from previous MMO's 100+ ping puts you at a great disadvantage against someone with around 50-30.

Well, what would east coast be, comcast?
Gabby Jun 20, 2017 @ 9:40am
They're in Sacramento. 100+ ping is perfectly acceptable to play with in a 2.5 GCD action bar based MMORPG. This is hardly a hardcore deathmatch FPS game lacking auto aim.

For the record, I live in NY. I play the game just fine.
Elazul Jun 20, 2017 @ 9:51am
The game is designed to be played at 200 ping per interviews I've read so no worries if you have under 200 ping.
Ruse Jun 20, 2017 @ 10:47am
I live near the west coast of USA. I can play on EU servers with zero issues. You can play from east on US west servers just fine.

They inform you and tell you that you won't get your answer, at least not directly from them.

And, FFXIV isn't those previous mmos.

Each game is designed differently, and according to statements from the devs, ffxiv was designed to function the same up to around 200ms ping.

Besides, 50ms to 100 ms is a difference of, 5% of a second...
50 to 200 is still only 15% of a second.

100+ ping is not acceptable, idc what the devs say it's really not and if you play the game just fine thats you, but I'm competitive when it comes to dps or healing and if I'm getting 100+ ms vs someone who has like 40 I'm gonna surely lose even if the guy is bad.

It is acceptable. It doesn't really matter how much you insist it's not. No one's going to buy your unreasonable argument.

And no, that kind of difference wouldn't automatically make you lose a thing. I'd buy that in Overwatch, not a 2.5 second cooldown action button MMO. You seem to lack the understanding of what a millisecond actually is.

I'm sorry.. but with the game's tolerance planned for 250ms or less, that's where it is.

This is a SLOWER MMO, and this talk of competition for DPS/Healing just gives me a headache. This is primarily a cooperative title. If you're talking PvP, there are many other factors that will have a bigger impact than a difference between 100-200ms.

Even then.. you can grab the trial if you want and track your latency via the Resource Monitor if you want.

"unreasonable Arguement" lol k, you must be one of those cringy RP'ers considering you don't care that you're at a disadvantage being on the east coast. Here let me pull up a video to show you it's more than a "millesecond".

I'm afraid your ad hominem and misinformed video have failed to change my argument. What your video is actually addressing isn't base latency at all, but variance. Look it up.
