[SPOILERS] Why is everyone so afraid to do Genocide?
It's not real life, it's not like you're killing real people. You can easily fix your game by deleting the flags the game puts in the AppData folder after you complete genocide. I just can't see why a lot of people talk about the Genocide route like it's the devil or something. It's not that hard after you learn Sans' and Undyne's attack patterns, and it isn't emotionally scarring at all.

Because when you end it,chara will be there, and will total NUKE your game, and your last hope,it to sell your SOUL to chara, when you sell it,your world will be back, but if you sold your soul

I guess you don't get emotionally attached to fictional characters. That or you didn't like any of the characters.

Perhaps you're the "gameplay" or "completion" guy more than anything else.

Don't worry. I also did that. No worries.

But there are some people who'd rather do stop and not tarnish their emotional attachments to the Undertale characters. Please do not judge them and respect their opinions. =)
It's not about being afraid. Stop issuing such a small minded conclusion about it boiling down to being real life/just a game. Thats not the point of it. That just means YOU as a person detach yourself from emotions in most cases. YOU just dont care, and in you can't understand why other people would care because youre not the kind of person that can. All that is true that is just a game yes, but its not a crime to feel attachment and syntimentality to something that makes you feel such things and want to preserve them IF thats what they make you feel.

I adored these characters, and thats something that doesn't happen in games often. These characters were made well with depth , heart, and emotion to them. They aren't one dimensional. It's cute happy and upbeat. Some people are simply content with that as there game than the dark morbid geno route where the things that make them like the characters are lost--myself included.

You feel the enjoyment of embracing the characters in their depth and emotion, rather than destroying it. For some people. If thats not what YOU care about in your games--if thats not what YOU play your videogames for, thats your personal choice. But if other people enjoy embracing depth and emotion and sensitivity, thats their preference as well. There is no right or wrong way to play. There's playing the route that you enjoy.

Me personally im trying a genocide run right now but pacifist is my prefferred route, because i just love seeing, interacting and hearing from these quirky emotional characters so much. Genocide wouldn't be such a chore without the aimless walking back and forth to grind. Otherwise i don't enjoy genocide, and im only trying it to experience Undying and Sans first hand.

You could just delete the flags that the genocide run puts in "C:\Users\%Username%\Appdata\Local\UNDERTALE".

People got really attached to the characters emotionally.

I for one have no remorse.

So I thought I in fact did the complete genocide ending but from the sound of it, I don't believe I have. I never fought Sans, but I did receive the phone call at the very end from him basically telling me to "Go to Hell." This unresolved feeling has me determined to face him next go around. One thing I did not do was revisit the house after obtaining the key so I'll try that.

Dude, no need to absolutely curbstomp the guy for voicing his opinion. And yes, people grow emotional over characters. I very much like Papyrus and when I accidentally killed Toriel I felt sad. However, it is a game, and only ever will be. If I'm being a pacifist, I am a pacifist and will be nice and friendly to those I meet. If I decide to do the Genocide route, I practically become the one person that perplexes Richard from Hotline Miami 2 by answering "Yes" to his "You like hurting other people, don't you?". Nobody should be afraid to kill a videogame character. If somebody told if I didn't kill my favorite videogame characters, I would die, I would knock on that characters door, smash their intestines out, and then I'd do it again.
