No Lara is voiced by an English actress by the name of Camilla Luddington who grew up in Ascot, Berksire. It's right beside Surrey, like as close as you can get to Surrey without being in Surrey basically.
-I do find the odd accent thing disconcerting. The best I can say (besides laziness/lack of effort) is sort of the same trope they use for fantasy/SciFi which is basically that the in-universe characters are speaking their native languages but for the sake of the reader/viewer we are given a "paraphrase" in our most relatively understanable language.
-Yeah... that just seems like laziness and/or just using a generic translation program
-Depends on how Trinity Operates. More than likely Trinity is masked under one or more Mega-Corporations that would have essentially full freedom to do what they want, much like the real world. Their "private military" exercises and/or operations could be filed under business-esque proceedings/training and thus slipped by the Russian Governent. Though more than likely Trinity is simply operating under the radar and/or is at an "illuminati" level of global control (which is implied through out the game) and thus the Russians would probably not interfere with their "holy" mission.
It's a bit weird I'll admit, but in today's world a lot of former USSR assets and history is actually treated similarly. Mainly because the "Iron Curtain" was very effective in keeping much of the West in the dark about the USSR and because after the disolution of the USSR much of it's assets and structures were quickly abandoned and forgotten. There's been plenty of "archelogical finds" of old USSR submarine bases, military factories, ect. that have almost been forgotten because of that.
Additionally WWI was only 100yrs ago and excavations of former WWI battle sites and encampments are not uncommon and are treated in the same manner as one would a battle site from 1000yrs ago. You'd be amazed how much can be forgotten in as little as 50yrs.
To be fair, most Russian/Eastern European accents are so annoying because they're not accurate and they're typically done to appeal to American viewers.
They're like that so Americans can understand what they're saying lol.
I've seen American shows that cover something here in Australia and even then they put subtitles for the Australians..when they're speaking the Queen's English perfectly fine.
Yeah, it's pretty sad... :(
