Your specs?

Freezing is a known issue. Even the top specs system do have that problem (much less than we do have but it isnt running smooth). Just lower your graph settings and or move to DX11. For me it fixed my problem (very high->high and DX12->DX11).

Very high textures can use up to 10GB of VRAM. Set it to high, it should reduce the stuttering as well. DX12 is broken in this game. DX11 is what you should use.

Also post your PC specs.

The Specs of your machine a tad low for these kind of titles, while still able to run it, you should stick to low/mid settings and maybe lower a bit your resolution. Also, make sure no other tasks are active while you run this game, other than Steam, that is.

I only use the lowest resolution possible and still crashes, idk.

In your case DX11/12 makes no difference, the game (IIRC) is Metal native, what is your version of OSX? That may have a bigger impact than the hardware itself. I'd suggest you contact Feral directly or use the launcher app to send a support ticket.

oh, ive sent a bunch of tickets haha. So its not my graphic card, is it? When i tried to play Shadow of the Tomb Raider, for example, the game itself (or the steam launcher) did let me know that my hardware is not good enough...
MacOs Catalina
Version 10.15.2

Long story short: Your OS has deprecated OpegnGL, but these games make use of the newer graphics API from Apple which is Metal, similar to Vulkan on other platforms. This particular game as well as Shadow are Metal native, which should mean good support on Mojave and higher OS X (since you use Catalina, this includes it). Any way, the main issue with thse APIs or rather these games on these modern APIs is that their VRAM requirement is rather high. So your IGP which is an Intel IRIS graphics is rather limited with only 1.5 GiB of VRAM, plus it being rather weak. Which leaves your dedicated graphics card, but you did not provide the amount of video memory available on it, howeer looking on-line it seems to be "only" 2 GiB, which for these games is a tad limited. While it should run, I am uncertain that the new requirements of the OS itself, may degrade in some respect the performance, and hence be cause of the crashes.

so, therefore, its not the game, but my computer? no way to solve it?

Unless you can 1) assess performance in a similar system with a GPU with larger VRAM, or 2) change the GPU, it is very likely.

If you could, also using a different version of OSX (for underlying changes to the Metal API/drivers) is another possibility.
