1. Damage number indicators. These will cause crashes in combat if your damage goes too high. You can disable them in the in-game options.
2. Vsync/framerate: unstable / very high framerates can cause the pause/inventory menu to crash when you close it. Either enable vsync in the in-game options and then relaunch the game or force 60 FPS through external means (not sure exactly how that would work on Deck).
Thank you for the tips.
1- I haven’t tried this yet. I will try it during my next testing session.
2-it’s interesting to hear the game struggles with higher framerate. My frames have not been any higher than 60 so far. I can the frame rate with the Deck’s built in limiter. However, I think the instability you described might still factor in to the crash.
Recent findings: I have been able to play at a near solid 60fps without crashes after setting my Deck’s TDP limit to 12w. Though I was still getting the same fps at 9 watts, I was also experiencing crashes. So far I’m thinking the games resource requirements spike.
My next tests will involve toggling damage numbers and lowering TDP limit to find the acceptable minimum.
If you're still having this issue, would you mind specifying all your settings? That's in-game settings and your performance adjustments through the Deck's right-hand menu. Oh, and what version of Proton the game's running with. All of this can help the community figure out what's going on on your end.
