The Wailing Host Unkillable

I am trying to fight The Wailing Host in the city of the dead. I am playing on apocalypse. Every time I knock him down to where his head is on the ground, he heals. When he is down, there is no E prompt. I tried mashing it anyways, but nothing. I can't do anything at all here. I mash E even though there is no prompt, nothing happens, and he fully heals. I shut off the game and back on, didn't help. Shut off steam and it did not help. Rebooting my PC did not help. How can I get past this or is the game just unbeatable now, thus making me waste my money on a game that does not work?

This may sound weird but is your game on English or other language?

The game is in english. There is no event prompt over the boss' head thus making it unbeatable.

Everybody just copy paste this on any thread with problems, just a quick guide of what to do at first before posting a thread about a problem:
Here's a simple bug-fix and stutter-fix guide:
- disable damage indicators
- set the shadow quality to medium, not to maximum
- disable in-game vsync and use video card vsync
- switch from release to beta or vice versa(from steam game properties, the Beta tab and then in the list that has as defaut Opt out)

I've just been looking at a video of my fight against him. It doesn't show the start of the battle but I think the first chance to use 'E' is when you get his health to half way. I do vaguely recall him also putting his head on the ground when you knock off 25% of his health, but no 'E' prompt at that point. So get his health to half way and you should get chance to do the 'E'.

Except I can't. He puts his head down at the first 25%, no prompt, then he heals to full health.

Unfortunately, my video misses that part of the fight. But from memory I just attack him at that point with my blades. Just watched a youtube clip and at the first 25% he just attacks the head with his blades which forces his minions to spawn.

I think I also missed the first time I got him to 50% as I'd got to a funny angle I couldn't actually realise he was on the ground so he recovered some health and I had to get him to 50% again.

Again, when he put his head down at 25%, he just heals to full and the fight essentially starts again.

Not sure what to suggest, except keep trying. At 25% you don't get an 'E', just attack with a heavy damage weapon. Maybe also try spawning your crows at that point, too.

Doing everything you say and always nope, he puts his head down, heals, then gets back up.

The only thing I can think is you just don't get to his head quick enough when he falls down. You may be able to notice that it goes into a little slow-mo when his head's about to fall so watch for that to pounce as soon as possible - I think the 1st clip below the guy practically stays right on that inside edge.

Maybe another option is to play with the armour pieces and heavily load up on strength to boost weapon damage.

I almost had to give up on this game for this exact same reason. The interact icon NEVER appeared for me either. But the fast kill option on mr. Anti Fun's +10 trainer finally got me past this boss fight.

I'm having the same problem. I've been fighting this guy for about 30 minutes. He always heals when I get him down to half health!

I had the same problem. Just keep mashing E while heavy attacking him throughout the fight and you'll get it.
