Maniac Mansion
I heard they were going to release it along side this so we can play that before the sequel. I don't see it anywhere on the store. Any news?

In the original version you had a directory within dott/maniac. within it there was a maniac.somehting file. if you rename that file to maniac.exe you could start maniac mansion without running dott. Maybe the filestructure here will be the same. We will see.

Maniac Mansion is indeed included inside the game, it is the PC enhanced version if that means anything to you :)

It's kinda up to your preference, but I've found that the Amiga version of Maniac Mansion has the better sound/music quality, if you're lucky enough to find it. Graphics wise it's about the same as the PC-VGA version (version 2).
You're right, the amiga version is better - got it running on ScummVM. The version included with the DOTT CD-ROM is V1/DOS. Bernard looks like he's wearing ski googles though.

I think that means V2/DOS for this release.

Both Maniac Mansion and Zac Mcracken to the Amiga is the best versions of the games. I hope they'll release them both :D

is there a way to play Maniac Mansion without starting DOTT? I cannot see the executable on the folder game

Not in this version, as all the files are archived in only one file.

Modern pc games really don't like executable inside executable especially if they also wanna use it on console.

I remember thinking the version of MM than came on the DotT CD was worse than the NES version.

No idea how the NES version compares to the Amiga version, or the enhanced PC version.

Firing it up yesterday though, it looked better than I remember. On par with the NES version. Which I haven't seen in about 20 years...

My housemate was un-impressed with the sounds he was hearing. "You're not going to actually play that are you?" Hell yes I am buddy! Go to your room if you don't like it because I am not putting headphones on!

My favorite MM version stay the NES version, mainly because of the music (PC version have near no music and it feel very strange). My opinion is a bit biaised though as the NES version was the first one I played.
