Need some hints - but no spoilers!

Hey guys,
I hope you can give me some hints, w/o spoiing it for me.

So currently I'm stuck at:
Future:
How do I get the mummy to laugh (at the contest)? (smile and hair I already figured out)

Past:
Need gold as the last ingredient for the battery.

Present:
Stuck in the video room (already got the tape).
I already figured out how to change the statue (rigth vs left handed). However I did so before actually entering the room. So I might screwed up the game here? B/c there is no dialog with the lady with it... or what do I do with the statue?

Have you found anything that laughs in any of the other time periods?
Go play with the inflatable clown in Bernard's time
Laverne has something that will help
Use Laverne's scalple on the clown to get its laugh box

Have you found anything that's gold in the past?
Take a look at the quill that the constitution is being written with
You'll need to find a way to get the founding fathers out of the room
This is the end of a pretty long puzzle chain involving exploding cigars and chattering teeth - poke around with that stuff first

You need to get her out of the room before you can fiddle with the video controls
She's on a rolling chair
Before the statue is changed, she's able to grab it's arm
Just give her a little push...
