If anybody should be responsible for the situation here, it's Apple, since they're the ones who're knowingly cutting users off from using existing software.
Apple has dropped each of those architectures in the past and developers who haven't kept up have lost support. Eventually, people move on. This isn't new, and it will happen again.
Obviously, I'm addressing the people who haven't moved on and are asking for updated versions of legacy games/other software. If running legacy software is something that users of the OS need/want to do, it makes sense to also express that need to the OS' developers.
This seems to be a configuration issue that's been caused by setting up non-public 64 bit builds for internal testing via Steam. I'm not working with DF any more, but I'll give some people a nudge so that they're aware of the situation.
If you could I do indeed thank you very much.
I verified the integrity of the game files successfully, and wondered why the download was only 0.0kb when I tried a reinstall.
yes, sadly that will happen now that 10.15 doesn’t support 32-bit, kick Cook where he deserves it for that, and Jobs retroactively for the iphone, etcetera . Apart from a dumb old mac gammers brief venting, I recommend backing up with Time Machine and downgrading. Otherwise you need to use other work arounds.
Here is a wacky way to go about it if you want to bother with Parallel Desktop: https://www.pcmag.com/how-to/how-to-run-32-bit-apps-in-macos-catalina
Parallels has a list of macOS download links and other information: https://www.parallels.com/blogs/run-32-bit-on-mac/
Here is a SheepShaver wrapper if you’re up to setting that up: http://www.columbia.edu/~em36/sheepshaverwrapper.html
I just like to stick with 10.13.6 myself.
either one of these links should work, I think.
You should still be able to download an OS on the apple store and choose not to restart and install. If thats done right it will save as an installer in your applications folder.
Sorry if I don’t have pics to show you. I might throw together a picture tutorial on that some time when i’m not tired.

Much luck one way or another, hope all this nonsense helps a bit.

I mean, I understand developing for Mac is easier said than done, but I REALLY want to keep playing DOTT and Grim Fandango on my MacBook Pro even after I inevitably update my MacBook Pro, but really? 😳
EDIT: For reference, my MacBook Pro currently runs on Mojave 10.14.6.
* Broken Age
* Day of the Tentacle Remastered
* Full Throttle Remasted
* Grim Fandango Remastered
I just successfully started Day of the Tentacle Remastered on macOS Catalina!
Thanks Double Fine, this is great!
