Red Exclaimation Point?

I was cooking and I had to make a dish in the holding station but it would not let me. In the menu there was a red exclaimation mark on the bottom left corner. What does that mean?

That means a food should be prepared in a holding station ASAP since there aren't any available for customers at that moment. You should definitely make those first before making holding station optional foods and side dishes.

I find this really confusing. I'm doing the first Max Weiner lvl, and i have customers waiting for corn dogs. If i try to cook corn dogs, i get the red exclamation, and if i cook them i get unhappy faces in the HS and a bin icon. It's not covered in the tutorial and i have no idea what is trying to tell me to do.

You need to cook corn dogs in the holding station first before you can serve them to customers.
