Tips and tricks, for perfect days
Hey, i just wanted to create a little space where we can share some of the less obvious tricks for geting perfects days. I completed every level in CSD and, so far i have 20 golds(not the most i know) and have 100% on Max weinners, and wanted to share some of the things have learnt along the way

Genral tips

1. SLOW DOWN just because you can rush out 40 customers durning a rush hour dosn't mean you have too. A lot of the fried/ grilled foods can be made to order which gives you some time to gather your thoughts while cooking

2.When dealing with foods that require the use of a holding station prioritze the ones you are worst at, if you suck at soup you don't want to be trying to make it durning a rush hour so if you can get 2 HS with it in do so.

3. Say the names of the ingredients out loud with an emphasis on the letter you need to press. Especially for items that don't use the first letter of it's name; e.g. cRountons, oNioNs , chicKen

4. Learn which items always use the same keys so even when trying a new food you know some ingredients ahead of time, Carrots, Brocolli, Eggs and Cheese are just some examples.

5. The coloured block before an ingredient name tells you what page it is on, and the ingredients will always be presented in the order of these pages. You will never have to jump from page 1 to page 3 or back track through the pages. So when the colour changes, change the page

6. Alot of recipes have the same starting point each time or elements that always exsist. Burgers always start with meat and funnel cakes always have whiped cream for example

7. You can mess up HS dishes and still keep your perfect streak, you cannot serve them though.

8. Side dishes still have recipes, even if you want to provide your customers both kinds of pretzles, the game decides which you need to be makeing so you have to maing it to the recipies every time

9. You get a time bonus for eachUNIQUE side dish on the menu, 3 HS of side salad will on get you one time bonus

10. There is no penatly for letting food in a HS spoil the only downside is that HS is useless until you empty it. You do not have to clock watch the to prevent them from spoiling though

11. You can still serve food while doing other things, so if you have a row of chickens sitting there waiting to go out while waiting for the dishes you can send them

12. Orders always come in from top to bottom and always try to fill the highest slot possible. To avoide accidently neglecting orders in the lower slots try to always work from top to bottom in rounds. If an order comes in above the one you just completed ignor it and continue down.

13. If you find yoursef getting confused dealing with multiple differnt type of orders try dealing with orders in groups. For example serving all of the current pancake orders boefore moving onto chore then waffles. Try to combine this with the previous tip to once again prevent order neglect (Thanks Dristvann)

Food specific tips

1. Beer - When pouring beers I find a steady 4 count to be the best way of timeing it.

2. Desert platters- When eve there is a desert order that calls for 1 or one the and 2 of another I like to split up the 2 to avoid accidentaly triple or double taping. So B.cream, Mouse(2) would be M,B,M rather than M,M,B or B,M,M

3. Side salads- These can save your butt they have the same recipe every time and don't need to be cooked if you ever need to buy your self a little extra time for new orders make one of these, just remeber you don't get many servings and they spoil fast. (Thanks Dristvann)

I will add any other suggested tips to the main post with credit and update it as i play more. I hope smeone out there finds this usefull.

i'm not sure if this works for all, but w/ holding station only foods, if you're worried about customer patience while waiting for it to finish cooking, you can start a second holding station prep of the same food and it will reset their patience....or at least that happened w/ pies

Very good idea! I have a slight clarification for one of them, though...
Side salads- These can save your♥♥♥♥♥ they have the same recipe every time and don't need to be cooked if you ever need to buy your self a little extra time make one of these, just remeber you don't get man servings and they spoil fast.
Keep in mind that this ONLY affects orders placed AFTER the salad is ready - it won't extend the wait time of requests already on the screen.

For true mastery, memorize the ingredients for each recipe by name!

And for Immortality, win the game blindfolded!!!

great tips but a spellcheck really would have helped too

Or you can do the single one first and then the double, since the game won't let you place more than three total. Even if you accidentally tap M a third time, nothing will happen.

Here's one that I find useful: if you have a chance to look at the waiting orders, do multiple of the same type after each other; I find I can keep my mind on the buttons to press better this way. (Obviously, if another food order is slipping away, that should still take priority.)

True but this incrues the potetial risk of doubleing up on the single item. If you accidently double press the double item there is no problem

I suppose I get what you're saying -- if you're alternating keys, then you don't have the urge to double-press any of them. But I've never had any trouble hitting the single items once. This must be a YMMV situation. For me it's much easier to set it up so that I can tap the double at the end with impunity than to figure out the alternating order at a glance.

Nice tips!

I've learnt to stagnate the side dishes because they do get picked up every time after a major order no matter what type of side dish it is. Sometimes if the orders are very fast I prioritise deep fry side orders, rice and soups because the quantity is much larger. Side orders like salads and fruit salad are better to do during rush hour if you run out halfway.

When there are only 4 slots and they are all occupied (3 slots with prep orders, 1 slot with a side order), I just wait until the side order is cooked before I serve. It does back up the orders though, but my fingers can rest so I'm not really fussed.

I've found the Chinese Finger Trap achievement (Chinese restaurant gold medal for shift 1) to be really difficult/confusing for me. The key bindings swap around between O for Oil and O for Soy Sauce from the marination stage to the assembling stage. Same with the E binding and the C for sCallions vs. S for Snow peas.

Is this going to be a collab to publish a guide? There's none up at the moment so I'm hanging out to see when the first one comes out.

Honestly i have never written anything like this before, but after a week of nothing like ths appearing i felt i could at least get the ball rolling. From a more selfish prespective i was hoping to simply "trade" tips for my own gain

Trade? Well ok, it's early days. I'm interested in publishing something like a guide or a tip list eventually. It's a big / tough game though so it does need a bit of scope or a theme. There's enough room for different technique styles to develop. I'm still just figuring out how to do fast orders on 11 slots and 9 prep slots.

Great general tips, the one caveat I have is this one:

"12. Orders always come in from top to bottom and always try to fill the highest slot possible. To avoide accidently neglecting orders in the lower slots try to always work from top to bottom in rounds. If an order comes in above the one you just completed ignor it and continue down."

This is not strictly true. The game tries to keep an order for you but will revert to highest slot after a time. The idea that you should keep in your mind where you are in the list of orders holds true though.

The zen of CSD is to slow down the mind, not the action.
