Holding Station, not cooking

Often getting faces instead of a timer for things and can't figure out why.

Was sometimes getting it with pretzels, would click the station, click pretzels, click classic or German, they'd appear on the try, but then they wouldn't cook.

Looking at the recopies and using practice mode with pies in the Holding Station, and out of 10 tries so far, only the first attempt worked (Crust, Cherry, Covered Crust). But nothing has worked since, including that same combination.

Is success rate for holding station foods level based (I'm only level 2)?
Do I just need to level up more to have better success?

Hi,

there is no success chance mechanic.

Only: correct recipe or wrong recipe.

Be sure to make the correct recipe.

well, it's gotta be something.

There is no wrong recipe for something like pretzels.

Click the Holding Station, click pretzels, click classic or german, the pretzels appear on the tray, right click to activate (left click does nothing), and sometimes it just gives the faces instead of cooking. Sometimes 3 or 4 times in a row before they actually start cooking, meanwhile customers are waiting and getting impatient because i'm taking so long to get pretzels cooking.

Be sure to follow the recipe.

You can't choose freely which type of pretzel make.

What recipe? There is only 2 types. Classic and German.
Single ingredient, nothing to mix or add. Click pretzels, click classic or german.
There is nothing to get wrong, yet it doesn't cook.

Same with muffins. First time using them in a restaurant and nearly EVERY SINGLE TIME i had to do them 4 or 5 times before they would cook. Wrong recipe? No, it's just paper Liner and Filling. There is nothing to get wrong. Yet I had to do it FOUR or FIVE times just to cook muffins nearly EVERY time I wanted to cook them.

Have you rebinded the keys?

Try to verify the settings and search for the option about slow inputs...

But I just noticed the stuff at the bottom of the screen saying exactly what you had to make.
Stupid mistake on my part. When you were saying recipe I thought you meant actual recipe and ingredients, didn't realize you meant the text at the bottom saying what you had to make. Thanks for the help.

This happened to me, too. I didn't even realize this when I was trying to make the pies. Thanks for the heads up, I don't know how I missed this.

I still don't understand this. On the days I'm serving fish, I may try to plan to hold regular fish and the cod and I get this popup, but why? You say to follow the recipe, but there is no recipe at the start of the day. Why does this mechanic exist at all?

So, when you select fried fish in holding station, no recipe appears? It happens with other foods too?

The recipe for the Holding Station is a Fish Mix which consists of a random number of Cod and/or PurplePage.png Fish, to a total of 4, which must be Dunk & Cooked.

If I wait longer, it will let me put it in the holding station. The question was, why does it sometimes appear, and other times it does not? If an item is on the menu, whether the item is ordered or not, why shouldn't I be allowed to prepare it? Is there a mechanic I'm missing? Because it does ask me to prepare an item to even start the day. There are sides sitting on the menu that as of yet haven't even been ordered, but it doesn't want me to make them.
