Is the food catalog description serious?!
As a lover of creme brulee, I was extremely offended when I noticed it said the food originated from the U.K. I wish to see proof that now any of these descriptions is actually real, because I legit thought this was a nice tidbit for the game and not just some scramble of words put together for a filler description >:[

I believe the food descriptions are mostly if not exclusively jokes. I don't know if there's any real info in there, but they are definitely meant to be funny. Like all the fake futuristic joke history that's also in the game.

I was hoping it was factual for once :/ Ah well.

Yes, they're totally real. Chili is well known for it's ghost removal properties. This is where we get the name "ghost chili"

I do wonder if there are any references hidden in some of these descriptions.

Like Ghin mentioned, looked at the Chili recipe for an example of tongue-in-cheek references.

Also, take a look at the "Country of Origin" for the Sliced Turkey item. ;)

Again, I did look up some of these, and going to assume most of them are just going to be joke descriptions such as origin being unknown for ham slices.

Just kinda got me shocked for a sec when it was written that creme brulee was from the UK...

This is actually true. I like to use ghost chilies in my cooking, and I have never seen a ghost.

The carpaccio story is only half made up, so I'm sure some of these might actually have a grain of truth in them, but you shouldn't hold your breath.

As a professional exorcist, I can confirm.

I'm surprised it was the fact that the country of origin was listed as the UK that shocked you and not, y'know, the story of creme brulee being popularized by a long-running action movie series that featured a grizzled action hero taking frequent breaks in his warfighting to pull a creme brulee out of his vest and carmelize it with his cigar.

The food stories are obvious humor. The pork loin was found on accident after someone happened upon a dead pig. Stuff for chuckles. Cannot take it seriously, especially after the steak fingers mentions the inventor probably died making something even more unhealthy, clogged his arteries or something, and likely exploded somewhere in Idaho....that one made me chuckle.
