You play as someone who has just woken up and discovered that you slept for much longer than intended. Luckily, there’s someone nearby who brings you to a base from which you head out into the wild to complete missions.

After fumbling through the settings in the dark to find the English language, you can enable both auto aim and auto fire to relieve pressure on your fingers. Although this feature comes from the survivor genre, the rest of the game is more action focused, where you move through individual screens and fire using only the selected weapon.

You can equip three different weapons, all with unlimited ammo, but they must go through a short reload period. Additional moves include a dodge that drops a bomb behind you and a rocket attack. Both need to recharge before they can be used again.

The roguelite element comes from random items that offer various perks. You often receive one each time you clear a screen of enemies, and they stack so their effects increase. There are all kinds of perks, such as ricochet bullets, increased critical and base damage, health boosts for each kill, and many others. However, when you return to the base, all of them are removed.

As mentioned, you head into the wild from the base. There are several directions to choose from, and you can pick any you want. Rooms are random when you enter a new one, and they are all small with just a few enemies. Exits are marked with sticks, but when you return to the base, everything resets and rooms are randomized again, so you will not be in the same room even if you start your run from the same exit.

Missions are triggered by talking to various NPCs in the base, and each rewards you with money and experience. You can see the objective marker, so you know which direction to go, but you might not always make it because you die very quickly. On the other hand, enemies die just as quickly, and you can clear a room within seconds. However, with each new room you enter, the overall danger increases, meaning enemies hit harder.

Missions are divided into story and fetch quests, but they do not have fixed locations on the map, so you have to go on runs and look for useful loot. Such items are marked with a yellow exclamation point, so you can immediately recognize that they are worth keeping.

Other loot comes from enemies or crates found in some rooms. These contain junk you can sell, crafting materials, and chip fragments. Once you have enough of a certain type, you can create a chip at the base and then equip it. Chips offer the same perks as items, but they remain with you if equipped in one of the six chip slots.

Compared to items, loot takes up space in your limited inventory, so you need to return to the base and store it in a warehouse, which is also limited. Storage space can be increased, but it requires a lot of money, which you can earn by selling things you do not need, such as old weapons and junk. New options in the base open up as you rescue other people, each bringing something new. For example, the first opens a shop, while the second sells weapons.

There is not much variety beyond pushing further and unlocking new base features, but it has a satisfying loop that encourages you to progress and unlock teleportation and extraction points.
