Owning Fallout 2 hard copy
so, any chance of my copy of fallout 2 being registered to steam? or must I simply add it as a non-steam game?

kinda sucks, because i would like it in my library for safe keeping but I understand that might be a tad difficult proving I even own it outside of mailing my copy(which would be absurd)

Non steam game. Your version of fallout has a CD key?

yep, or I assume so... its burried atm, cant remember if that title has a key. I got the case still and reinstalled before, so if the title has one i got it right next to the disk

Old key won't work anyway, since Steam has their own set of keys generated. But Steam doesn't offer anything extra other than the ability to post a review (which not many people read anyway), and log hours, so just adding a shortcut to your full version will function the same.
Or you can wait a good deal on the Fallout classic pack. I got my Steam version of the Interplay trilogy for like 4 USD.

^ its the adding to my library so I can guarentee I'll never lose it, thats the allure of adding it to steam.
I could care less about writing a review for such a good game, it doesnt need my clumsy words backing it up! lol

unfortunately, I don't think I'll be able to do it then. Already paid for the game, it goes against reason to pay for a full game of something I already have.
Thanks for discussing it with me! Was worth finding out for sure.

I got it all on sale as well for like 3-4 dollars. I also owned hard copies. I figured at that price it was cheaper than fast food so why not?

Besides I don't like using my disc drive unless I absolutely have too. I've embraced the digital world completely.

im very fugal by nessesity.

spending for something I already have goes against reason.
btw, its not cheaper than fast food. I could get 4 mcdonalds value menu items from that- and subsequently throw up two or more of them.
your point is taken tho.
