yea its realistic, i didnt expect it to be about aliens or monsters, what i am saying is the main storyline should be more about Henry's life, his relationship with his with and his relationship with Delilah. She is the only person we speak for 79 days, but there is there is almost no development in there.
I mean do you remember the clusterf** that was LOST ? So much buildup over 6 seasons with a clumsy wrap up where half of the plot elements didn't even get closure.
I can't remember which movie this reminded me where the heroes go on some sort of vacation which turns into a wild adventure, yet at the end , every good thing has to eventually end. Firewatch ends with the summer season, and their relation as full of highs and lows as it was ends with it.
It's this privileged relationship that one has in summer camp, that only exists because the people are gathered in a specific place for a specific time, but it cannot survive past that, after this "summer camp" they resume their lives.
That's because even the writers got lost writing that pile of ♥♥♥♥ and in the end nothing made sense and there was no way to close the loops.
Also don't need another thread. We have about 48 right now. Post in one of them.
How did it end anyways? Someone tell in spoilers.
Read the other 48 threads on the forum.
You find out the man he was stalking you and your conversations was Brian's dad Ned and you find out Brian fall down in the cave and dead. Then you leave the woods. Great experience but it definietly feels rushed when you discover the thing.
How is it rushed? The Flapjack fire started quite a few days before the ending and was proceeding according to plan towards Henry's lookout, in the days following the start of the fire quite a few things happened including gaining more fuel to feed the paranoia that Henry and D. experience during the summer.
In the end Ned makes a mistake with setting the research camp on fire, which combined with the Flapjack fire and created a massive dangerous fire. It was a priority to get the lookouts and rangers out safely. Ned decided that he had to leave again and go deeper into the woods and comes clean with telling Henry everything.
Then you rush out of the area because the fire is getting closer and activily more dangerous.
It was a realistic ending to a realistic narrative story game. Do I think we could spend a few more actual days with control? of course, I feel we did kind of miss a few good exploration oppurtunities and bonding experiences with D. during the 79 days.
