Player immunity to the legacy virus
Is there any explanation why we as the player are immune to the legacy virus? Especially in Reforged Eden where it is clear that humans as a species are not immune?

Well, we are from a completely different galaxy, for one thing.

I cant speak for vanilla, but in Reforged Eden there is a whole human colony ship that gets taken over.
And if humans were immune, the zirax would stop hunting us down and use us to finally get rid of the legacy.

Maybe we aren't? Your respawn mechanics are a clone chamber after all. Who knows what happened to your previous body every time your clone shows up?

Perhaps we were the real tyranids all along.

I don't think the PC is immune to the Legacy virus, you can get the "Alien Parasite" status from horrors, which, I assume, is the Legacy virus. It will kill you very rapidly if untreated.

The golden Medpack is your most valuable one, always have one or you need a medical device type 4 that you can reach.

Well, obviously not canon.

Whose to say that isn't why they attacked us in the first place?

Also we're not really immune since we can get infected with the "alien parasite" which I think had an entry mentioning that if it progresses enough it turns someone into an abomination? Don't remember where I saw that though.

Not that it matters because we can just be cloned infinitely.

Also in RE, if you follow the story, it basically shows/tells you how the virus progresses. I do not remember the mission name, it is the one where you track down the doctor (i think) that has contracted the virus.
When you are in an abandoned base and there are abominations in a crews quarters, one would guess they succumbed to the virus.
Sadly a lot of the lore has been removed from the vanilla storyline over the years. IMHO I believe those who did not like reading it was the cause.
