If you don't like to build and test your creations then you will likely get bored sooner or later.
The survival is nice, but it's also a non issue once you have a vessel with weapons.
There are endless POIs you can assault with your vessels after you get through the survival stage.
However, it will be super repetitive fairly quickly and you will quickly no longer need the loot from the POIs as well.
Even if the POIs are different it is basically just more of the same pretty quickly.
If you are wanting to play for NPC interactions then don't bother. NPCs are very basic, and other than fetching a quest or doing some broken trading (very OP), there is no real interaction to be had.
The AI pathing and such is also super basic.
There are tens of thousands of potential planets too explore, but again, in the default game it will be super repetitive quickly.
The entire content is everything that I just summed up, but more is added all the time (but it will still basically be the things I summarized).
It's a great game. Like most sandbox games though you have to keep yourself entertained.
I love the game, but I'm also going to make sure the amount and quality in the game isn't over exaggerated.
I can easily keep myself entertained and occupied, but I also like to restart a new save often because the early game survival is the best part IMO.
I just wanted to be detailed instead of just answering "yes" to a multiple part question.
Watch some recent videos of people playing and decide for yourself.
You always have up to 2 hours of play to test and decide for yourself.
I will add that with the awesome creators on the workshop, the scenarios and BP add to the the overall game once you have completed or if you have grown bored with the vanilla game.
LOL....it is $19.99/usd. You'll drink that in 3 - beers on a Saturday watching the Kardashians and flush it down 20 mins later.
^ This made me laugh!
So ye.
After the release I couldn't get out of the starting system. Because everything is too long. Yes you can play solo with a lot of patience and endless grind. I don't enjoy it.
Definitely not a solo game in my opinion.
WOW.....!!!!! You could not get off the planet in 500 hrs? Something is wrong with your game play/actions.
Most people can get off the planet in 150hrs
