I would suggest making a CV to leave your starting system and go out and explore the rest of the galaxy.
I strongly recommend **NOT** trying to regenerate POIs or wipe your starter planet, especially since you're still on your starting planet and doing so may cause loss of your own ships and bases and may even corrupt your save game.
If you don't know what you are doing, you can say goodbye to your save game.
ONLY do this if you are:
1: 100% sure of exactly what you are doing and how to do it and comfortable with using console commands and risking your save game.
2: 100% okay with never exploring anywhere else and just want to stay on your starting planet.
But there should be plenty of resources to get there. (Unless "RND" is just unlucky...)
P.S., Are you digging up buried minerals, yet?
P.P.S., I think the experiance of "strip mining" a planet and ending up with a "dead" planet is part of the game. 8-}
Your problem doesn't exist for most players, it's the way you play that generates it. EGS is a space game with survival elements, not a terraforming game. You need to move and explore if you want to use all aspects of the game.
If you want to stay on the same planet you should look into games like Factorio or 7 Days to Die...
Asteroids will regenerate if you used the console command ``gopt set Regenerate POI true`` before you mined them.
In difficulty options of saves(where you load saved game) can you set auto miner depletion to false to make those eternal.
Use Auto miners with "Auto Miner Deletion" disabled.
Turn your crushed stone into, Carbon, Iron, Copper, and Silicon.
Buy ores, ingots, and crafting components from some vendors.
But yeah... I kinda know its the art of the game but still... it botters me anyways. In terms of reality you wouldn't be able to deplete hole planets that fast, especially not as a single person not in a life time - even tho the planets seem to be not bigger than like 20km in circumference.
Somehow I think one gets way to less ressources from the sources. Maybe it will get better but as it seems your projects will only get bigger and way more complex as well. It's kinda terrifying.
I think I will try the options you told me about here and for the rest I guess I need to just accept it.
In general Im a sedentary person, probably a bad deal in this game. Of course I travel but I need my places to return to and hate to take to much apart. It has to stay natural, in order.
As it is in the game its like or at least gives me the impression of the worst overexploitation.
I really don't want to know how bad a multiplayer experience must look this way.
Reminds me of my Minecraft time when I used to play online and visited a farmland plot and the hole place for many miles was just completly wasted, destroyed and perforated even tho it was just wiped a few days ago.
In this game, everything you do is permanent, which leads to bigger and bigger saves. Truly huge files that remember every detail of every system you've visited, and every change you've made. That's the trade off. In other games, like Enshrouded, resources respawn constantly. But only areas near your altar are saved. So you get unlimited resources and smaller save files at the cost of severely limiting your building area.
But your resources are not coming back. The good news is you can move over one planet and start fresh.
AND just a friendly "BTW"
