Regenerable Ressources in Singleplayer?
Hello,

well ye... it kinda bothers me that I have to deplete my hole planet and later on the hole universe so to say to build, craft and just grow until an attack happens or anything and I have to start over or replace stuff.

At the moment I have to leave holes and just pure emptiness wherever I go to be able to build and just do stuff. Beside plants to harvest, everything else seems to be gone when picked, looted, digged etc. - gone with no return.
I read that there is an option or command or something in multiplayer that allows stuff to regenerate or respawn and I wonder if that is or could be a thing in singleplayer - the normal survival mode - as well?

Not sure if anyone can relate, but as I said... it bothers me to pretty much deplete and destroy everything around just to build and extrend my base, craft the things I need, replace stuff and get new ammo and also in such a high rate because the ressources I farm are way to less to make much of a difference.
Realized when I built my actually very basic and just small base but had to collect all the ressources in a several 100m² sized area just for that. Even worse it became when I than started to use the factory to get myself a ship but had to get hundreds of ressources at once. At some point I was not able to find some of the ressources in miles and big just complete empty desolated areas popped up, left by my actions and grew bigger. But nothing I could do about it because either that or no progress at all.
It's also kinda sad for Points of Interests since once you visited them, there is absolutly no more reason in visiting them since they're either gone (f.e. wrecks) or depleted if it comes to loot but also enemies. It gives the gameplay a very stale and final feeling I really can't stand.
So I wonder if theres a way to 'fix' this.

Keep in mind there are 15,000 star systems in the vanilla game. You're not going to ever run out of resources or POIs but you will need to keep exploring to find new ones.
I would suggest making a CV to leave your starting system and go out and explore the rest of the galaxy.

I strongly recommend **NOT** trying to regenerate POIs or wipe your starter planet, especially since you're still on your starting planet and doing so may cause loss of your own ships and bases and may even corrupt your save game.
If you don't know what you are doing, you can say goodbye to your save game.

ONLY do this if you are:
1: 100% sure of exactly what you are doing and how to do it and comfortable with using console commands and risking your save game.
2: 100% okay with never exploring anywhere else and just want to stay on your starting planet.

Best not to try to build thing too huge, until you can get to other planets and star systems.

But there should be plenty of resources to get there. (Unless "RND" is just unlucky...)

P.S., Are you digging up buried minerals, yet?

P.P.S., I think the experiance of "strip mining" a planet and ending up with a "dead" planet is part of the game. 8-}

Your lifetime is not enough to spoil all the planets in the exising solar systems in this game. And to do it you are only a few clicks away once you have a CV with warp drive, plus you can respawn with the factory all what you did build before on a similar planet (boring like still water, but you can do it.)

Your problem doesn't exist for most players, it's the way you play that generates it. EGS is a space game with survival elements, not a terraforming game. You need to move and explore if you want to use all aspects of the game.

If you want to stay on the same planet you should look into games like Factorio or 7 Days to Die...

After a while will asteroids mined with capital vessel and automatic miners become the prime source of resources.

Asteroids will regenerate if you used the console command ``gopt set Regenerate POI true`` before you mined them.

In difficulty options of saves(where you load saved game) can you set auto miner depletion to false to make those eternal.

The fixes are...
Use Auto miners with "Auto Miner Deletion" disabled.
Turn your crushed stone into, Carbon, Iron, Copper, and Silicon.
Buy ores, ingots, and crafting components from some vendors.

Okay thanks for your answers. I was sick so I couldn't reply earlier - and also kinda forgot about it to be honest.

But yeah... I kinda know its the art of the game but still... it botters me anyways. In terms of reality you wouldn't be able to deplete hole planets that fast, especially not as a single person not in a life time - even tho the planets seem to be not bigger than like 20km in circumference.
Somehow I think one gets way to less ressources from the sources. Maybe it will get better but as it seems your projects will only get bigger and way more complex as well. It's kinda terrifying.
I think I will try the options you told me about here and for the rest I guess I need to just accept it.
In general Im a sedentary person, probably a bad deal in this game. Of course I travel but I need my places to return to and hate to take to much apart. It has to stay natural, in order.
As it is in the game its like or at least gives me the impression of the worst overexploitation.
I really don't want to know how bad a multiplayer experience must look this way.
Reminds me of my Minecraft time when I used to play online and visited a farmland plot and the hole place for many miles was just completly wasted, destroyed and perforated even tho it was just wiped a few days ago.

In this game, everything you do is permanent, which leads to bigger and bigger saves. Truly huge files that remember every detail of every system you've visited, and every change you've made. That's the trade off. In other games, like Enshrouded, resources respawn constantly. But only areas near your altar are saved. So you get unlimited resources and smaller save files at the cost of severely limiting your building area.

But your resources are not coming back. The good news is you can move over one planet and start fresh.
