Warp is only within same solar system or to another system, you cannot warp inside the same sector. You can use teleporters though

You can warp into any orbit from another orbit, also within the same solar system contrary to the response above (that's the role of SVs). But NO, you are placed in orbit after a warp and you need to travel manually into planets.
As said, you can overcome this with teleporters on a base.

No you do not have to warp to Skillon. The 4 starter planets are actually moons of the Gas planet so you can fly between them as you wish. You do have to warp to any other planet in this system. As you would have to in other systems as well.
Another words you do not have to warp to moons of a planet but you do between planets and systems/sectors/stars.
Not if its within the same playfield. So if you can see it in the distance, no.
You can teleport between planets as long as you have discovered a POI or vessel with a valid teleporter, such as a Faction that you are at least Friendly with. Beware that the receiving teleporter doesn't always return you to your start point, but you can teleport to one that is switched off. That may however strand you where you land, so have resources for an SV handy. And ensure you have a weapon when you arrive, just in case!
