So, you can have a small fleet of things that you carry with you from system to system, AND/OR you can leave one or more ships behind as you travel. Keep in mind that in solo gameplay ships do nothing when you aren't present in that playfield: they neither get attacked nor can they defend or react. That is of course different when using a multiplayer server.
Were you asking if you could TRANSPORT the SV with the CV? Yes; it's called docking. You need landing gear or docking pads attached to the SV to allow it to dock. Tip: they don't have to be facing downward: they can also face up or sideways. You can dock to ceilings or walls if that is what works best. When a ship is docked, its weapons and shields are disabled; it becomes invisible to the enemy.
With that being said, if you're that attached to your SV you can always just make a basic capital vessel "warp platform/ring". Essentially a minimalist CV you only use for warping to other systems (just DO NOT PARK IT AT THE STAR BECAUSE YOU CANNOT GET BACK). Dock your SV on it for when you need to warp to another system, then just get off and use your SV once in the system.
You can also just jump to any planet and then jump back to the star to approach from the correct direction.
I guess in some rare situations your SV might not be able to achieve the angle because you warped in from a direction there's not a planet in. That would prevent you from getting back to the ship without using a waypoint. But with a waypoint you can always get there
The next question is: he specifically referred to SVs... so does that mean it doesn't also work with CVs?
