There's also Project Eden if you want more content without base gameplay changes, but its going to be discontinued soon.
Reforged Eden changes and rebalances a lot of the base gameplay systems, like resource values, health and damage values, thruster physics, projectile physics, power draw, etc. Many of the more complex vanilla blueprints won't work out of the box in Reforged Eden, however they will work just fine in Project Eden.
The combined maintenance toll for all three (against continued game development) is finally getting to be too much, and no doubt that explains why Project Eden is being phased out. It probably wouldn't happen if the game was now static, because there'd be no maintenance for game compatibility. I know firsthand what a PITA that maintenance is; I've been maintaining my own personal mod for 5 years, and while it doesn't have quite the scope of RE it's extensive enough.
