Anyone know a good little starting Hovercraft miner they swear by?

I don't even remember if you can mine with a hovercraft, but just looking for something small that'd be better than my hand-held drill here. Would that be a small ship?
Anyway, there's so many in the workshop, anyone have any they really like?

I really like this one...I haven't spawned it yet and I forget why, but maybe it was a little too expensive still. But great little miner there.

This one from the same author (XCaliber) is older but a better one, with docking pads and double the cargo compared to the MKIII above, the downside is: It's Tier 3 instead of Tier 2, but...who cares about that...

Debatable how "starting" each of these are, but whatever you have the materials for. I have a favourite but it's likely so out of date it won't work properly anymore.

I use my own, so I know they're up to date. The main ground miner I use has a sealed interior for hazardous environments. And of course it requires only basic resources. It should be about the same size as the others posted here.

It just might not be everyone's taste in aesthetics.

Well, you've got plenty of designs to chose from. Me personally, I have NEVER liked mining with hover vehicles. Instead, I like to just hop out, hit F5, and mine with my drone while staying connected to the larger storage of the HV. Or the SV. Same principle. SVs are nice because once you've mined all you want, you can just fly over all the obnoxious terrain and just head straight back to base. Never understood HV mining rigs. But that's just me and how I like to play. Not trying to tell everyone or anyone here that "THEY"RE PLAYING WRONG!!" It's a game. So just take my two cents for what it's worth.

I mean mining by drone can definitely be more convenient in some circumstances. Namely high gravity worlds, where mining on foot is a gigantic pain, and getting a CV that can withstand high G with a hovercraft in it is also a logistical pain.

And the drone is just like "gravity? wtf is that?"

Not a fan of HV mining, I also prefer just F5 drone mining, or just throw everything into a ball shaped SV that can spin around in its own hole and be used for eating asteroids too :)

epic hand held drill + drone. it is fairly easy to get the explorer tokens needed for the drill, it is the first thing you earn. once you level up enough, move straight onto a SV with a drill. you'll need a jump capable SV anyway, a SV jump ship with decent performance, couple of weapons and a drill can be kept at T2 and can jump around mining rich asteroids. can usually find the small amount of fancier mats needed for it in loot boxes or by salvaging.

HVs just suck in general. they nerfed the ♥♥♥♥ out of SV/CVs just to make people use them yet they're still unnecessary other than for collecting wood.
