Alien Cores, How to????
In Creative mode, I noticed that there are many different cores. However, when I hit alien ship or base, I only know how to destroy the core.

I also saw a video on YT about using NPC cores for extra CPU, but the video wasn't about capturing them. I know about the Quantum extenders, but I know there are cores too.

Is there any way to retrieve them without destroying them, for reuse?

In Vanilla game Advance cores are dropped in containers from end game ships like Tovera. Everything else is either in RE or other scenario. RE has Aux Cores which you make, Advance core which is a reward from a quest, or Quantum CPU Extender which you can salvage like other CPU Extenders. You can get them from specific drop, salvage from CVs or crafted. Advance cores can't be retrieve normally unless you're lucky. There's a 20% only chance of retrieving it successfully intact. Aux and Quantums can be reused like regular blocks.

Thanks, but in RE, you cannot take out a alien core from their base or vessel? Because, every time I use the multi-tool I get the message it can;t damage core. So, out comes the Elite shotgun to remove it.

So, besides my cores, the A-cores and the Q-extenders, there is no other what to boost CPU?

In Reforged adding crew will help a tad, but for any large boost you'll need the other. The 20% chance of retrieval of a core is only valid for cores you have placed, it doesn't apply to any type of alien cores.

Ryolo, Do the NPC (human & alien) block add a small amount of CPU? If so, how much? Because, I could find anything on it.

Figure out the NPC/CPU. Yes they do and they help with 2500 CPU. And, at this point...I'll need 2201 of them to get my CPU out of the RED. :steammocking:

I am going to laugh when you try to cheat in NPC blocks and break your save game.

If you want to cheat just use console commands or change your difficulty settings. Trying to put NPC blocks on your own ships just has a high chance of you breaking something.

I don't understand. The NPC blocks are part of the game, we salvage them from ships to put in your vessels, bases or sell to traders. They clearly say in the block description -2500 CPU, and like +30w on the power. Also, I have NO intention of collecting 2201 NPC blocks.

So, why is this cheating, when you put 10 or 12 in your vessel?

Why would it break something?

And, you have them in RE, so if they are cheating and cause problems, why are they in RE?

NPC blocks are for scenario builders, they are not meant to be used in regular games, exception is the all-CPU core in vanilla that you EARN, but that's not your game, and cheating or not doesn't matter here anyway. If you want to break your game then...use NPC blocks, you are welcome...Or you know what you do and build a scenario and use Creative to modify / create special ships to add to the playfields.
Now, that said, because you are up with such traffics, why not use the regenerate POI command while playing, no need here to add NPC stuff, a POI or ship attack gone wrong? Regenerate it with...
regenerate [POI ID]

LOL.....you all are taking this way overboard like I am a big cheater. My OP was a question about additional Alien,or other faction, CPU cores. l also read a post on the NPC blocks benefiting CPU, So, I had an addition question, and I investigated the CPU benefit.

So, after my further discovery on NPC block, I was being facetious when I commented that it would take 2201 NPCs to get my CPU out of the RED. Jokes seem to not play well on this Discussion Channel.

However, if the NPC blocks are that bad, then they should be turned off for the player in the playfields of RE, and use should only be limited to selling to the trader. I get that they are their for the builders creation of playfields, but allowing the player to use them without a warning in the description is bad. After all, there is a warning in the description of some of the Science Crafting blocks.

So, now that some folks are taking me WAY too serious, I think I will try and create a CV that only uses Humans (NPC) as the CPU Extenders. This should be interesting.

There is a basic misunderstanding here, I think.

Some people are writing "NPC blocks" to mean the cosmetic crew blocks that have a small CPU benefit in RE. Blocks that are NPCs

Other people are writing "NPC blocks" to mean a category of block designed not to be used by players, including special cores and alien turrets and shield generators and such. Blocks that are only for NPCs.

Probably, but I had clarified it in the my 3 reply saying "Human & Alien".

I also went into Creative spawned a large CV, but over 1000 of the Humans in it. It looked like the Chinese Terracotta Army, but it did bring the CPU back into the White. I then spawned it in an old saved game and it flew and warped just fine. :steammocking:

Crew blocks are fine to use.

Npc blocks (alien blocks) are not.

Yes exactly, that's what I meant with my post above, and so I definitly went offboard as far as OP is concerned. And I'm not so experienced in RE to know the effects of NPC blocks in the sense OP is talking about, I wrongly have thought that OP was trying to cheat by using these blocks (ignoring other usages of them). A mistake.
Sorry UncleBadTouch.

Well they were talking about using alien cores which would be cheating, so it's understandable we were all confused.

Using alien blocks meant for poi use on your own ships and bases is not only cheating, but could have unintended effects for which you will get no support for.
