So you're saying that there are personal shields to be unlocked later in the game, that'll let you absorb hits from a laser turret?
If the story sends you there then that's different and has nothing to do with the POI designer. They do not decide how or where their POIs are used.
I'd like to remind you most of the POIs in the game the player isn't directed to explore by a mission.
I'll ask you too: is there some personal shield that lets you absorb a laser turret shot to the head, the moment you poke up from an elevator block that is the only entry point?
You could quit and write a bad review--it would be mean and unhelpful, but you could--or you could learn from your mistakes and avoid places that will kill you until you are geared up and more experienced. I don't think you should write a review until the game is complete. I don't even think the devs know what it will be when it's done.
You will never get personal shields. Get the heavy armor like zaphodikus says, but stay out from in front of laser turrets. Or die and write a bad review. Whatever makes you happy.
Though, it wasn't that difficult. I just destroyed its core with my missile turrets. As for some reason, they placed it right next to window. And then just a lot of free loot
This was the post that got me thinking that 'anomalous station' is just a generic name for an encounterable POI. And sure enough, there wasn't chevrons indicating that the structure wasn't indestructible, even though it was made completely of xeno blocks.
I'd gotten into the habit of turning my turrets off, because of the indestructible xeno teleporter tower on the starting worlds.
This made it absurdly easy then, because this mushroom shaped base didn't even have any outside defenses. I could just sit back, relax, and let my projectile cannons drill right through the generators. In fact the only defenses it had other than mob spawners, was the two tier 2 laser turrets ready to shoot the player's head off the moment they emerged from the central elevator shaft that was the only way to access the core.
I guess the lesson learned here is don't go exploring when the structure is left intact; you'll only end up doing corpse runs no matter how well equipped you are.
