This is a known issue with the game, makes no sense at all. Just ignore it, I contribute this to an oversight of the developers.

This low memory thing has been going on for years, you'd think they would have fixed it by now...

Yeah I have 32GB ram and I've sometimes had it popup in the past, minimum req is 10gb so it's probably safe to ignore if you aren't having any problems.

Das Spiel braucht min 10 GB am besten 16 GB schon alleine, nimm jetzt noch Win dazu und schon hast du zu wenig Speicher.

Ergo die Meldung stimmt im Grunde.

Seriously when I had 16GB of RAM the only time I got that low memory warning was when I was running other programs at the same time, like a browser.

Ist doch das gleiche bei Anno 1800 mit jedem Update DLC steigen die Anforderungen und viele können es heute nicht mehr spielen weil ihr System was davor ohne Probleme das Spiel stemmen konnte, nun nicht mehr spielen können.

I just logged into the 1.8.1 patch and got a Low Memory warning.
I have 16 GB and No browsers or any other programs open.
Why is this game suddenly demanding more memory?

I have 16GB RAM total. TaskManager tells me: Empyrion uses about 5.3GByte + Steam itself needs roughly 0.4 GByte. Total memory usage is 55%. So 16 GByte should be sufficient.

16GB is more than enough. As has already been stated, just ignore the warning,

As with most games, the amount of RAM used will fluctuate. I have seen system RAM while playing EGS pass 18GB, so it definitely is possible to run low on RAM with only 16GB.

Well if you HOST games at all, then your memory requirements can skyrocket , it can literally use all of your 32 or 64 GB of memory given enough time and enough players / playfields opened and added to the save file...

But for SP or just joining a server and playing, 16 GB is plenty and should not give you issue unless you have web pages open, some web pages are worse than others, like a utube page streaming open is very bad for Empyrion, streaming radio is ok doesnt seem to bother it, but then if you keep stock market pages open, Empyrion doesnt like them as they use a good chunk of RAM memory, pages with running scripts , like ads on the side tc, all bad things to be open in the backround.

If you cant track the problem down, and it still seems to be low on memory, restart the PC, something may not have shut down properly and the memory may still be buffered for that , no longer running program.
So when they say, did you restart it, there is some merit to that, ironically.!
