Make oxygen, and hunger bars go down slower. It needs to be balanced because being able to respawn near where you died is lame, and makes the survival aspects completely pointless. All you do is spam dying in the beginning. It's not even fun, and then once you get beyond that the game is fun but you still just respawn right where you die.
You cannot die in this game. It's like a game you cannot lose.
No, that's not a solution. If you like playing games that you cannot lose then have fun, but I'd rather go play Space Engineers, and it's a shame because this game is more fun, but it loses 90% of the fun for me when it's impossible to lose the game.
People have different reasons for playing games. Your's might be taking your mind off your terrible life, but I play games for a challenge.
i know alot open world game some of them even survival games where you spawn right near where you died with almost no consequences beside may lost some equip and or xp ect.
The dead screen in empyrion offers you different options, you may did not encounter yet to die with a full inventory with ressources and equipment in a heavy enemy crowded area like inside a poi or similiar, you will have arround 20 minutes to get your belongings back and on respawn near option wich you find to easy you don't even get a weapon. so if your not prepared with a parked hv sv cv with some spare equipment your lost and possibly also everything from your bag.
That hurts enough i asume. Also die in space and respawn wan't be that easy to solve in somce circumstances. So i suggest may play then moan, at least this is not a high prio change if but im sure if there will be a change in the death&respawn mechanics anytime yout got will be heard :)
Hardcore is something alot of players demanded and who knows our devs may change that anytime. For now you have to life with how it is , it's not that bad as you describes and challlenging enough depending on cirucumstances.

I already said some people don't play games to take their minds off of their problems. I don't have any problems in my life. I'm an architect, bruh. :D
Could be they leave respawn at body as a protection feature until lvl 3 later in the game development. Or make it "respawn at pod" for applicable games.
It's sort of like the bpf. Don't assume that just because it's there it's going to stay the way it is.
Dude, that was in response to someone saying people say this game is too hard. I can make it off m32 with zero deaths.
Just take the ability to respawn at location off. There is already medical bay respawn points at bases, and CV.
Really the whole deal should be rethought before launch imo. Shorter timer on boxes could be one thing. Spawning on body with low health so you can't just tank the raptor that killed you while drone mining as you pull out the shotgun from the case and pop it.
Hating on it as is though when it's useful for testing doesn't seem right.
Meh. I don't wanna play a game where you respawn where you died. I'm going back to SE. It's a shame because I bought 3 copies for my friends, too. Oh well. I may come back when the game comes out and there are alternative ways to play atleast. Hardcore servers, or something.
Oh really? You can remove the ability to respawn at death location? Honestly I wouldn't mind buying a dedicated server etc if it's possible.
