How do the the alien abandoned factory, reactor and mine compare in difficulty and rewards?

Don't know about the reactor, but the mine or factory...just don't. It's a bad idea and whatever rewards are in there are not worth it. Those places are nightmares.

Reactor is also a nightmare but there are tactics I have started to use such as blowing an angled hole from the top down to as far as I can go to create stairs. Then I use my drone to check the areas on each floor to identify spawn pads and enemies. I've found everything from Epic weapons to T2 reactors / Constructors as well as T2 and I think on rarer occassion T3 resources.

I would expect to find the same with the factory and mine.

I find the abandoned factory is the hardest but it has the most loot containers. The reactor also has may containers but is easier because of the shortcut to the core. The mine is not so great compared to the other 2.

Ironically I have not located the core to the reactor yet. Any tips?

The "abandoned" POIs are all fairly unpleasant. The enemies inflict status ailments, spawn in large numbers, and take a lot of damage to kill. They're even more unpleasant when you first encounter them because they have trapdoors which will leave you surrounded by mobs with no easy way out, and surviving in this game tends to rely upon not getting into that situation. The reactor is probably the worst because it's populated by scorpions with their minuscule hitboxes.

Roughly central, the area that's been taken over by the scorpions (all walls/floors are alien blocks)
Lowest floor.
On the floor above, there's a hole where you can drop down. It's right next to where you would land (but surrounded by blocks, so it's hard to see when you're actually on the lowest floor). From the right angle, you can see the top of it looking down through that hole.

I'll fight scorpions over those f#cking nightmare creatures any day of the week. Those things creep me out.
