Why can`t I pause an singleplayer game?

Im really not complaining since it goes quick to just exit to main menu and load the save. But I still find it very weird that Im not able to pause my singleplayer game when pressing ESC .Could someone kindly explain to me why it`s not possible to pause a singleplayer game in this game?

You can also change what key pauses the game in options.

Yeah the guy above me mentioned that. This is my first game ever where ESC doesn't automatically pause the game, thats why I thought I couldn't pause my SP game

Well I wasn`t around at that time and I also didn`t search for previous discussions because I thought I was the first person to ask it

A good habit is to look in the keybind options screen of whatever game you're playing, to see what controls the game offers you.

Got it thx. But as I said: I didn`t try to search first because I seriously thought I was the only person ever in the history of man kind who bothers to ask why I can`t pause the game. But you proved me wrong and now the case is closed. Thank you.
