Changing Ship Orientation
been doing some reading, and came to the conclusion that I built my CV backwards. Have they implemented a way to fix the orientation of a CV yet.... or am I screwed.

I've put 40 hours into building this ship. I will be pissed if it was all for nothing :(

Have you tried simply replacing the core, while standing facing the direction you want the ship to be oriented? You have the cockpit installed facing the direction you want, right?

Have you actually tried flying it yet to see if its backwards?

Yes, yes, and yes. Its max speed is 8m/s -- So I did some research and found out that if your compass rotates when you sit in the ♥♥♥♥ pit, it means that your ship is backwards.

I know 100% that its backwards, I'm just hoping that they may have implemented something in maybe the comand console that allows for changing the orientation of a CV

I haven't seen anything in the console commands list that sounds like it would help.

Can you connect the CV (minus a core) to a CV starter block, the way you can link things to an existing base (N key menu)?

No, the connections only work for bases, not for CV's. It seems that the game still recognized the ship as a CV, even without a core attatched.

you know, There are enough people the are posting about this problem, only to find out they have to rebuild thier ship from scratch. You would think the Dev's would have addressed this issue by now and added some way to re-orientate a ship.

You can't rotate the core using the t2 multi tool? I was able to just fine...

Yes I can, the problem is that the way the game works, the ships orientation is defined by the CV starter block that is placed when you first start a ship. Which ever direction that starter block is facing is the front of your ship, and there appears to be no way to change this.

Its an annoying bug (yes, i'm calling this a bug!) but I assure you that when I stop being pissed off at this game in 3 months and come back to build a new ship, I will never build backwards again.

Easier solution... move the core, try to blueprint it in creative, and see if the direction changed when you spawn a new blueprint?

Otherwise, it's pretty much your own fault there for not watching which direction the core actually faces. Not the game, you. The devs made it fairly obvious which way points which.

Whilst it is relatively obvious it is not blindingly so and it is such an easy problem to fix that the devs should have been able to do it ages ago

That's part of the survival bit: either you are smart enough to tell front from back, or your survival is not assured.

Where have you read it is easy to fix? If it was so easy to fix, they'd already fixed it.

It's easy to change the orientation of a ship but you'll have to redo your signals and device groups.

Here's one way you can do it

Is this just for CV or not a issue anymore? Because I dont see any problems on a SV with cockpits in both directions. Or do I miss something?
