You need a warp engine, a full warp tank, and you have to travel through severl planets - follow the dotted lines - to go from a planet to the other.

I went to the tradingoutpost, which says it can do a straight shot to masperon. but it ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ wont. UGH

and a maximum distance of 25 AU at a time- so most of the galaxy will require multiple jumps

if your doing Alpha 5 they changed it from A4 you need to travel in the line and they up the fuel needed to by alot once you line up to one of the planets in the line you hit they key to jump there I have not personal done it think its ( K ) if I remember right if im wrong sure somone will say something. Make sure you have the warp engien and the one to hold your fuel or it will not work.

I think what you are seeing is the wormhole. A grey line right? I beleive if you are at Masperon you can jump via the wormhole to the trading post but not the other way. Edit: I just tested and from Masperon I was able to warp to the Traping post directly. I didn't pay attention to AU usage but I think it cost only very little or none. It is only a one way trip so to go from the Tradin post to Masperon you will need to take the long way/

you have a maximum warp distance of 25 AU (more or less) so if your destination is farther than that you'll have to warp to somewhere closer inbetween your start point and your destination.

Make sure you have a warp drive, A decent supply of Pentaxid (half a tank or more), go to the system map select the location you want to go (or at least the closest planet on your way to that location). click lock target. aim your ship at the spot where the target appears when you close the map. get up to max cv speed, then hit k and you should jump. This is also covered in the in game tutorial.

That was my problem. That needs to be freely avaliable information. UGH

You may only warp between systems linked with a dotted line. Distance is shown in AU, trying to warp to far shows an error message. Warp tank holds 25 pentaxid, one for each AU, so max jump must be 25. Adds up, seems logical.

still 25 ...hmm think we have a hacker on our server a person jumped 40 in one go how is that possible?

Oups! This was the old number, now warp tanks contain 7x9 refined pentaxid. You may also stack up to 100 pentaxid.

Lots of outdated information in this thread...

Warp tank was enlarged, to 63 I think
You can warp farther than 25 au now
Some warp lines and wormholes are one way, look for the arrow
You can only warp to playfields linked to yours by a dotted line and only then if there is no arrow or the arrow is pointing at your destination

Thanks for clearing that up. I was starting to wonder if some of the changes such as larger warp tank were only on expirimental still and that was why everyone seemed to think you still only had 25 au.

My problem is that the locked target in the sector map is not visible in my HUD, tried it many many times, for now i am trying all the dark points manually until the K button works and hope its the wanted destination :( is that a bug of the newer version or any tipps what to do? all planetary flags and targets are working as usual.
