FF6 Mods
I am wondering if mods for other platforms will work with this version. I know Zophar's has a mod hosted there that adds General Leo to the roster as a full party member and some slight story adjustments to make him fit. Would love to try a mod like that.

So wondering if there are any mods working with this version, in particular the General Leo one.

Give me a mod that makes Rages and Lores easier to learn and I'll be your best friend.

Yeah. I know Zophars domain has a ton of mods. But I am assuming they are for emulated versions of the game.

Would love some PC mods.

Those mods won't work on the PC, since they were written against the SNES. It's the equivalent of writing a patch for exe files on your PC and trying to apply them to FF6 on the SNES version. It won't work, the fact that the SNES doesn't have an exe file notwithstanding.

Yeah I had a feeling, hopefully the release on PC will resurrect the modders who made those mods and make them compatible.

Mods from SNES ROMs will be able to be applied, but not patching with an IPS. I'm working on understanding how to do that---but for now, you have amazing things being done by awesome people concerning the graphics.

Methinks that IPS patches meant to be used on the Japanese GBA rom should work as that is used in the Steam edition.

Yeah but the IPS patches from the ROMs are patching exact images. That's assuming the same code exists in the PC version and at the same location. I don't think we're going to be quite successful if they changed the game's code at all. Trouble is the ROMs also contain sound, graphics, music, etc.. whereas on the PC it's all separate files. I don't think the original patches are going to work without a lot of manual work.

That said, one of my favorite patches was FF6 hard mode, where it restored the original names and made the game slightly harder without making it ridiculous. (I still went in and gave monsters more health and armor, and wound up giving the final boss max hp, perma regen, shell and protect.)
