DOOM
Doom 2016's actually way more difficult than Eternal and I'll explain why (on Nightmare and Ultra-nightmare specifically)
No dash. No double jump until Argent Tower. No meathook. No air control until mid game. More enemy damage. Better tracking on imp fireballs. Less health and armor from pickups. Less health and armor from glory kills. No infinitely regenerating chainsaw from the start, or disposable fodder in every arena. Instant death if you fail platforming even once. 2-3 mistakes in the early game and you're done for. No damage resistance when at low health like you have in Doom Eternal...

The caveat to all this is that you've basically already won if you manage to get past the mid-game in Doom 2016, since you'll have so much health and rune powerups that the game becomes easy in comparison to before. I think it was also perceived as easy on launch because imp fireballs did a lot less damage and had worse tracking, but now imps are a nightmare to deal with! "FPS veterans" would also have an easier time with Doom 2016 since it's a familiar formula to previous shooters they've played for the last 2 decades, while Eternal has lots of new mechanics to exploit for newcomers (like the aforementioned dash, meathook, double jump from the start, flame belch, blood punch, freeze grenades and buffed frag grenades, not to mention the crucible as well)

Not trying to divide the communities for these 2 amazing games. Just my thoughts.

Yeah, but the difficulty curve isn’t ideal, as you described yourself. Besides, Eternal has Master Levels.

Here is kind of buff while you have low HP
Killed foes drop heals much more generously, if you running low

doom 2016 is hard only at first 3 levels without normal weapons on nightmare . doom eternal i think much harder , dlc 1/2 . need fast reaction and good motor neural skills

Eternal is harder without question, in 2016 all you need is the SSG,Guass & rich get richer run & you've won the game, it becomes SO easy, hell you can make it even easier by using the ciphon grenade.

Eternal requires more from the player & gives you more choice in the combat, plus the demons hit harder & are more accurate on higher skills, only demon to watch out for in 2016 was the imp.

Go back to Doom 2016 again, it's not how you remember, in fact it's the opposite to what you described. The dash alone trivialized Doom Eternal. You can dash into glory kill range, glory kill a demon and then dash out with literally 0 risk involved. Run into glory kill in Doom 2016 and there's a 50% chance a possessed soldier is charging up his energy ball which will explode on you when you exit glory kill.

Rich get richer and siphon grenade are given only in the last pat of a game, though.
But I do agree that these things make it way easier.

They do actually drop more health when you're not glory killing in Doom 2016 as opposed to Eternal. I think they wanted you to glory kill more often in Doom Eternal which is why they buffed the amount of health you got from glory kills in that game so much. It might just be my aggressive playstyle getting me killed all the time in Doom 2016, and passive playstyles have an easier time succeeding here.

I'm pretty sure in Doom 2016 they don't drop any health, if it's above 50% and less, than from Glory Kills, when below 50%. But if you don't Glory Kill on low health and go above 50% due to it, you can kill few enemies and they all drop health, so you can even fully restore health that way.

Not even a little bit, there's a point to why you have a dash, it's because the demons hit harder & faster & you need the mobility to survive. I streamed the game not to long ago on nightmare & didn't die once, i mean you can chainsaw barons making them a non threat, the only demon that cause deaths to players the most if the imp as their charged fireball can one shot the player, in eternal Every demon has a purpose & can wreck you if you're not paying attention & prioritising demons.

There's always a risk with the glory kills in both 2016 & eternal, both give you a couple seconds grace period afterward but you can still be killed even if you dash.

This is false. I played both games for hundreds of hours and completed both on Ultra-Nightmare so I'd know. You die in 2 hits here without any soft "Saving Throw" effect like in Doom Eternal. You really don't need the dash after acquiring in-flight mobility in Doom Eternal. You can dance around mid-air and that's good enough to dodge almost everything without the dash.
The difficulty discussions for these 2 games prove that "FPS veterans" can't adapt to the new MOBA-like formula Doom Eternal has, while the newer and more aggressive players can easily adapt in comparison. You get SO MUCH health from glory kills in Doom Eternal even on Nightmare that it's insane, and it's very safe most of the time because of the dash. The infinitely regenerating grenades, flame belch and chainsaw also helps out a lot.

It's not false, in eternal the demons hit harder & use there heavy attacks more often & are more accurate on higher skills, this is because you have dash & move faster.

Depends on demons, Ace. Imps do like 3-4 times less damage. Heavy demons seem to be more dangerous, yeah.

Imps were nerfed because of how much they did in 2016.

Soldiers, too. In general most fodder was nerfed because of how their role changed.
