All drivers up to date?
What did you discover and why are you asking for testers instead of posting the actual method?

And that goes for all of you if you need a potential solution then ask. If not consider yourself the troll
I have:
Gtx 960 4GB G1
Driver version 365.19
Core i7-4790K
16Gb DDR3
Win 10 Pro
I can play Fine with Higest settings but it slows down when I use Vsync I keep it on adaptive and have played with out a single frame drop from 60fps
+vt_pageimagesizevmtr 2048
This will always launch the game with low (I believe) textures and keep them that way. Double the number for medium.
The reason you have to do this is because the game always launches the game in Ultra textures. Death resets them again after changing them thus resulting in fps drops.
The lauch stops it from changing.

Partical effects hit performance hard sometimes too
Like i said, I play fine with max settings.. and the frames are good if I keep it on adaptive vsync..
I hoped my suggestion of using adaptive vsync would help with other players who might suffer..
this is a help thread right?
But i did impart my my suggestio so I am going to unsubscribe.. ta mate..
Could this be why the game keeps freezing/takes ages to get to the menu? I have a card that I assume can't handle ultra textures (only 2gb Vram, it seems to be okay with high textures though, does anyone know how much Vram the different texture qualities use?).
The game always takes ages to load when I first load it up, and it always seems to take a while after a death for the 'press space to continue' to appear.
I gave it a whirl and knock me silly.. it actually gave me more frames.. Great find..
Does your GPU have good or higher memory (4gig +) Then this "fix" is totally moot.
Just a heads up for those doing this and creating a VRAM page file nightmare.
People tried this with "Rage" another Bethesda / ID project. They managed to generate extreme texture pop-in problems on later levels and larger map areas. Since they were also accessing the HDD or SSD for the page files they experienced game stutter as well. In other words, runs like a dream for a little while, then sudden frame loss and crappy HDD/SSD access times causing video and game scripting stutter.
AMD cards especially fall victim to this. ID has a hard*n for Nvidia I guess. (I own both kinds of card on several gamig machines)
Here's to hoping Doom is different. Good luck guys.
Of course it does, you tard.. It sets Textures to Low, limits the VRam to a lower amount, and you said yours were on Ultra. You are clearly some guy who doesn't know anything about computers and plugged in a few high-end cards or purchased a few expensive units, so why bother trying to get 'more frames' when you are just here to say you run it on Ultra? Find someone better to boast to. You seem like the type of autistic manchild who will boast after using a microwave.
