Doom Controller Support?

Hey guys, I'm a bit confused as to wether or not this game supports controllers. It has a Controllers option in the menu, but it's greyed out even though I'm using the Steam Controller. There is even a SC mapping available made by id themselves, but I can't use it because the game doesn't recognize controller inputs. Am I missing something here?

I solved the problem partially. The game recognized my Steam Controller as a controller when I unplugged my mouse and keyboard. But it's still a broken experience, since it randomly switches back to K+M mode on occasion which makes the controller unresponsive again. I expect this to be patched in the future but for now it's far from a seamless experience.

Still, when it works it works well. The default id mapping is great and requires little further tweaking. For couch gaming, this is awesome.

My computer is my gaming console. It's hooked up to my tv and I'm not playing with M+K on my couch.

I have the Logitech Rumblepad which is dectected in Windows 10, but Doom doesn't detect it and the controller option is greyed out.

it works great for doom after the last patch.

to the other guy who said the 360 is better than the SC...lol, bet he didnt even set it up right because its a Fact the SC can aim better than the stick.

Also guys it's not always possible for people to use keyboard and mouse for a lot of reasons.

I tried unplugging and plugging but controller menu choice still grayed out. Anyone have any new info, mod, etc? Thanks.
