If you are referring to Doom 3, on its own it's not a bad game and does hold up well on some areas, but as a Doom game, not so much at all.
Oh. I felt original DooM shareware extremely exating. It had loads of spook elements.
Though game is boring as hell. repeat after repeat :(
Classic Doom was "spook" because you were 25 years younger when it came out.
If you are getting board in Doom 2016, turn the difficulty up some. If that doesn't help, it's not the game for you.
If you're not, why are you calling the game repetitive? The originals were repetitive, yet were still mindless fun.
Yes. Thats true.
And yes, it seems it is the game for me. It was like first 3 hours :)
Well the game is repetative. ?
Originals were repetative but they were something new back in those days. And they had those moments you never forget. Lights go off and demons start to growl.
Well. It is nice if some people like it. It has good gameplay mechanics and visuals.
But in my opinion they are little waisted when game offers you just horde after horde.
but if you compare this doom to the doom of 93, id ♥♥♥♥ my pants if i got to play this back then its really amazing and im sure theyre not done updating entirely
oh and i see you wrote a bad review for the game and havent even foudn the bfg yet.. silly /\/igger
Why are you blaming this game for not having horror and story when the originals didn't have any of those?
I see that you don't have the original Doom games in your library. I'm guessing you didn't play them for a few years. Go buy and play those for a little while and then come back to this game. You'll see many similarities. And by the way, the originals are actually more repetitive than the new one because all you pretty much do is shoot demons, find keycards to open doors, and look for secrets. Not only does the new one have these elements, but it also has upgrade systems, and data logs that tell you a little bit of a story. Do you even look for these things?
You also don't seem to have Doom 3. You should get it, because it's obviously the perfect game for you.
I know I am coming off as a bit rude here, but you get older, you start to learn some things. It seems you are sticking to some false nostalgia, as most actual Doom fans never cared about the "horror" aspects of the game.
Those "moments" are best remembered with the player feeling like someone awesome and powerful, not some "oh so spooky cyberdemon aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa no hope!!!!!" It goes more like this "Oh ♥♥♥♥ it's that stupid Cyberdemon I am going to ♥♥♥♥ him up my rocket! Damn I'm good!"
It's Doom, you either come and stay for the slaughter or you don't come at all.
It was trying to be like the classics while keeping a few modern elements, and in my opinion, did it perfectly.
I mean, would you rather have something like this?
