A fresh Fates beta build for a fresh new year is now available in the Beta Branch. If you give it a try, please leave your feedback under the Betas discussion topic in the Community Hub.

• Fixed issue where the tutorial could get stuck.
• Fixed some music issues.
• Fixed the custom game setting for Fate anger over time.
• Fixed the Random button on the custom game setup screen.
• Fixed an error accessing the achievements page on the Book of Saving screen.
• Music now resets properly if you exit a game and load or start another.
• Music is now composed fully dynamically instead of using Fixed sequences.

In case you missed it, we launched a large update for the Fateful on Friday, November 13, 2015.

It was a quiet release, in recognition of the tragic events in Paris. We at Golden Gear Games hope for strength and support to all those affected.

• We are the builders: Added two new Gaia Fates for world creation options:
  
  • Tutyr, Fate of Showing You Around, will give you a guided tutorial of the basics of Fate Tectonics!
  • Travissty takes a break from demolishing worlds to build some to your exact specifications!
• Full tectonic tuneup: wrangled a lot of annoying bugs and performance issues. Take 'er out for a spin!

Now, on first launch, the game automatically launches with Tutyr instead of Ragnarosa to help new players learn how to make their Fate!

After a fantastic collapse, we’re well rested and ready to rebuild—Fateful Fridays return with a modest update.

We’ve got some good stuff planned for you Fateful, so thank you for your continued support!

• “I/O, I,O! It ought to work, I know!” Fixed several save/load bugs that caused broken world saves.
• Urge overkill. Fixed blight, tsunami and earthquake powers tracking and trying to target long-dead cities.
• Fails to move me. Fixed a rare issue that would leave a Fate sitting in one spot forever.
• Life…moves…pretty…fast… Fixed really long load times for older worlds. Existing saves will still load slowly, but after saving again, it will speed up.
• Two steps forward, one step back. Fixed bug with continuing a game overwriting the previous save state for that game.
• If you see something, say something. Improved user-triggered error reports.

We’ve also fixed most of your submitted save file bugs, including ones that induced the continuous screen shaking. Let us know in the forums if any issues persist.

Thanks to the feedback of the Beta 1.8.9 testers, we’re ready for this week’s Fateful Friday release!

Now that things have stabilized since launch (well, as stables as things can be in the worlds of Fate Tectonics!), the team is going to take a break for the next two Fridays.

We’ll be monitoring bug reports and preparing to announce some exciting new things—stay Fateful!

• A few pointers. Added Changing cursor states for using powers.
• You can judge a book by its color. Added the color of the notification book matches the book color for the current mode.
• The end is not the beginning of the end of the beginning. Fixed several rare errors related to events occurring just as the world is completely destroyed.
• My savior! Fixed saving after you earned an achievement but before Fortuna awarded it to you resulted in the achievement never being properly awarded. Broken save games will be fixed by this update.
• Get on their level. Fixed achievement for reaching level 9 with only Penelope and Pestur was being awarded if you reached level 9 and then eliminated the other Fates.
• Lucky Seven. Fixed achievement for reaching level 7 with no disaster occurring was always being awarded at level 7.
• Mates of state. Fixed several achievements were losing their state on save/load:
  
  • Destroy world with all powers.
  • Reach level 4 with no tiles lost.
  • Reach level 7 with no disaster.
  • Fast castle.
  • All achievements for destroying the world with a specific power.
  • Place X cities.
  • Place X fleets.
• iChug. Changed rendering mode in an attempt to improve performance on Mac.
• Known issue: Windows version is missing some book animations.

Hello, Fateful! We’ve made our first Steam-powered public beta branch available!

If you simply have to be on the falling edge of all things Fate Tectonics, then give these a try and leave your feedback under the Betas discussion topic in the Community Hub!

To access the Beta branch, find Fate Tectonics in your Steam game library and control/right-click it to edit its properties. Select the BETAS tab and use the pull-down menu to select the beta branch.

The Golden Gear team has been thrilled with the response from the Fateful to Fate Tectonics, so we’re going to aim for a release schedule of posting updates on Fridays from now on—hence, Fateful Fridays!

Indeed it is! But we needed a chance to recover from our awesome launch party that our publisher, Toy Temp[toytemp.com], put on at our home base at Bento Miso[www.bentomiso.com]. We celebrated along with other games recently released from our community Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime, Planet of The Eyes, and Shutshimi! Be sure to check those games out, too!



For those of you impatient to try out new features, beginning Wednesday, September 23, a beta branch of Fate Tectonics will be available to try between official releases. Within Steam, if you right click on Fate Tectonics in your library and view the Properties, there's a Betas tab for you to access.

You Fateful have been instrumental in helping us tune our game, and we appreciate your feedback. To help keep us organized, please leave any beta comments in the Beta Builds discussion topic in the Steam community hub.

• Get on the mic. The Fates have had some of their vocalizations return.
• Represent. Toy Temp logo is now visible during the initial title scroll.
• Revise the resize. Cleaned up automatic resizing artifacts, button bar layout.
• Seize the day. Fixed most conditions where a Fate will be stuck in inaction when anger bar is full.
• Stuck on repeat. Fixed a bug where a Fate would use their disaster over-and-over-and-OVER again for an absurdly long time (looking at you Barnacles and Hogweed).
• Trick of the light. Ensured that Auroara’s lights clear when she clears out.
• Crash of the titan. Fixed the meteor power to unlock correctly whenever Archaeomagusaurus is summoned.
• No, REALLY, echo-o-o-o. Fixed the title screen music from playing over the in-game music.

Hello, friends! We’re back again with an update that squashes some pesky bugs and rebalances some Fate behavior to challenge the dedicated Fateful.

• Commodore fix and more. Fixed fleet placement tutorial.
• They don’t all have to be ALL CAPS. Cleaned up hard-to-read typography.
• Title of Record. Made book titles fixed sizes.
• Way outside the margins. Removed large font mode in preparation for UI scaling in future update.
• Don’t kill the fun. Fixed how Ragnarosa sometimes gets too into her work, destroying games and not just worlds.
• Fly away, little birdie. Able to dismiss the sharing to Twitter UI now.
• Bearly visible. Fixed a bug where Auroara wouldn't spawn when lost after being placed.

• No coins, please. Added a “Continue Game” button to resume last save from title screen.
• New, new game. Added an indicator to let players know there is a new game mode.
• Wave him through. Applied a limit range to Banacles’ tsunami.
• Thin ice. Modified snowy terrain to be weaker under certain circumstances.
• Comet get it! Adjusted Archeomagusaurus’ meteor targeting.
• Back to the Fate-ure. Re-introduced balancing from pre-1.8.4 for those of you finding it too easy to keep your worlds from shattering.
• Book ‘em. Added additional instructions for powers.
• Encyclopedia Fatetonnica. You can now read all Fate entries in the book, regardless of how far you’ve progressed in the game.
• Under achievers. Removing unimplemented achievements from Steam. Fixed Destroy The World Achievements (3,5, and 10 times). Fixed off-by-one errors in several achievements for reaching specific levels under various conditions.
• Hold ‘er steady! Added the ability to disable screen shake and screen flash in the options.

• Echo-o-o. Fixed some bugs in music playback affecting some players.
  
• Ragged dog ear. Fixed a minor issue with The Book of Saving.
