Exploit in 2020
So I came back (again) to Skalitz for Kunesh treasure to find it swarmed with about 6 nasty well equipped bandits. However they where fighting each other 3v3 and it ended with 1 survivor so I swopped in and killed him looted all the bandits which gave me over 5k after I sold it to merchants, but they couldn’t afford it all and it was to heavy to carry so I stashed the rest in the old house’s chest, when I came back to collect, the bandits were there again and the whole thing repeated which makes me think this is super abbusable... The gear being “Nurembergian cuirass” Italian and German bascinets, Golden Spurs + more. It’s easily obtainable rather soon after the prologue so is the game still broken till this day?

You're implying this is an 'exploit'. It's not an exploit, not even broken. Those bandit/Cuman encounters in Skalitz have been in the game since at least Woman's Lot DLC, and it's actually congruous with the story line. If you pay attention, there are many references to 'bandits swarming over Skalitz' in dialogues throughout the game: case in point, Matthew rants about it as part of the Masquerade quest intro.

It was more weird to see NO bandits in Skalitz when you returned prior to that DLC patch. I mean, c'mon, no one is pillaging the region after Sigismund's army sacked Skalitz?

My view is - if you're good or smart enough to take on those bandits, then by all means loot your way to riches. If it makes you feel bad, role-play a good Christian and don't loot bodies.

Hmm that’s funny. I just realized the same thing. That group has been there fighting each other the last three times I’ve been past there. The first couple times I totally avoided them. But this last time I thought I should bring the pain to at least one of these bottom dwellers looting my old hometown.

So I managed to get one of them alone, and killed him. I almost died myself, but yeah, wow there was a lot of loot left on the dead guard’s bodies. I didn’t take it all, but still earned nearly 700 groschen.

Definitely something gamey that you could exploit if you wanted to. That would ruin my game though. I won’t loot them again. Probably that group should only be there once. Or at least the guards shouldn’t have such fancy armor and spurs, etc. Or it would have been cool if some of the bandits could have been laying in wait for you to come loot the guards.

I imagine that, generally speaking, it’s tough to design the game so that Henry doesn’t get rich too quickly. The problem is that, for the game to be fun, Henry must engage in a lot of combat. But that necessarily gives Henry a lot of chances to loot expensive equipment. The mechanism requiring equipment to be repaired, and the mechanism making sales of stolen equipment difficult, help mitigate the problem but certainly don’t eliminate it.

Perhaps a more restrictive inventory system would have been helpful. The visual depiction of my saddle bag shows it’s basically a potato sack hanging off my saddle. Yet it’s carrying volume seems to be infinite. Aside from weight, there should be a volume restriction so that Henry could never be able to carry with him an entire suit of armor, let alone multiple suits and helmets and weapons.

I'm not sure if it's actually intented to work they way it does. They'll respawn pretty much instantly once you moved a little bit away from Skalitz. In addition to that will there not only spawn bandits and cumans but also guards and rarely even traders fighting said bandits.

Seems like an exploit to me. I basically made 4k+ and had fullplate the moment I got a horse. Just let them kill each other, kited the remains in a lap around the city, then looted everything and made a killing.

Yes, but you can only carry so much. If you over carry, you have to walk all the way back to Sasau or Talmberg.

How exactly a random bandit encounter makes the game broken?
Also this particular event didn't exist in earlier versions of the game, so definitely not 'till this day'.

What I mean by broken is that I played the game at Launch which was filled with bugs so I decided to play the game later, so I saw they had patched it real good so I gave it a try only to se this which makes me think it might be a bug that they respawn. And I thought the dialogue describing bandits were those scum u meet on the way and the group that camp over the bridge, not these medieval tanks
